I can think of three Manning picks in garbage time (2 vs Texans in last 5 minutes, 1 vs. KC with 40s left)QB rating isn't everything. Brees has a 108 rating. The one thing Manning has on him is TD's. Brees has thrown 4 fewer INT's.
And why were they expected to go the the playoffs? Manning. Are you seriously implying that the Colts would go to the playoffs with Jim Sorgi at QB? Regardless of the receivers and such around him, when the Colts lost Edgerrin James, they went 3-13, with a horrible defense. Would they do as bad with no Manning? No. They'd do worse.Brees is taking a team expected to finish last and has them headed to the playoffs. Manning is taking a team that was expected to go to the playoffs...to the playoffs.
Well, add in the "without him", and we get a clear Manning victory. Indeed, to that end, doesn't that make Manning the Most Valuable Player?But, part of my theory is where the team was expected to be vs. where they are.Comment
