    • Yeah... snow always makes for an interesting game, and last night's game was a true classic... two teams that hate each other... bad weather... goes down to the last second... fun to watch.

      • I think the raiders had an advantage in the white snow, because of their white uniforms.

They would be better off with Jeff Blake - Eagles 3rd string QB. There are a lot of decent 2nd and 3rd string QBs in NFL that are worth giving up a 4th or 5th round pick. Not sure why QB-deficient teams instead go to the scrap heap hoping to find a turd they can polish into gold.

          • Because teams may ask for more than 4th or 5th round pick and perhaps because teams feel they need those picks to build their team. Better to give up nothing for someone who'll probably only be needed for one year.

              • I love how people boast about future Superbowl victories in Week 12 . And from teams which aren't even undefeated .

                • Woo... just heard that Alge Crumpler and the Falcons have agreed to a contract extention!

Now, what about that Wide Reciever who can get seperation, Mr. McKay?

                  • This year, the NFC is definitely weaker than the AFC. All NFL statistical rankings (and derivatives like the Aikman Efficiency Ratings) need to be normalized for this. Thus, NFC team ratings would all be lowered and AFC team ratings would all be raised.

                    • So who is the least respected team currently, a 8-3 NY Jets team or a 9-2 ATL team????

                      Comment

                      • The Falcons have a nice D but their offense is in its formative stages. IMHO they are definitely overrated. They would likely be 7-4 or 6-5 if they played in the AFC. They do have quality wins over San diego and Denver, but the rest of their schedule has been very weak, including their two losses -- to Detroit and KC. OTOH, with their remaining schedule (TB, Oak, Carolina, NO and Seattle), they could run the table and be on a roll for the playoffs.

At least the Jets are in the AFC. But their schedule (2 ea vs Miami and Buffalo, plus SF, Cleveland and Arizona for 6-1) certainly helped. And without a real QB, they are in for at least 2 more losses (NE and PGH), possibly more. Good chance they'll be the odd men out in the AFC wild card race.

Then you must think really low of them . Everything I've been reading is how Atlanta is really an average team, etc, etc. I guess you can make that claim if the Falcons lost Vick. However, with Vick, he just wins games. He may not have the big stats, but he pulls it out in the end.

His career record so far is 21-10-1 with a below average offensive line, average running backs, a great TE, and piss poor wide recievers.

                          • At least ATL gets press with Vick. I was shocked to look at the standings this morning and saw that the Jets were 8-3, and to me, that is sign of disrespect. Then again, that kind of record might not even get them into the playoffs in the AFC.

                            • The Jets were getting a lot of press (NYC teams always do) when Pennington was the QB and Martin was ripping off all those 100 yard games when people said he was done. The last few games they've just looked pitiful on offense and the Giants have plugged in Eli Manning (getting most of the NY press).

When Pennington comes back, I expect the press to follow.

Right now, I'd call Vick a below average quarterback, too. But with flashes of brilliance when it counts and he just wins.

I don't think he's great, but he can and will be.

You've helped sell him to me, Imran.
