    • Go Falcons! 7-2 and almost assuredly going to the playoffs! Vick got the Bucs off his back and did so in great fashion. There is something about that kid. He just finds a way to win. In the past two years (remember he was hurt for most of it), when Vick leads the Falcons they are 10-3.

      • The Rams looked like a playoff team today too. The Seattle defense isn't that good actually. All Seattle has really has Alexander. The Rams seem to have almost everything. The only thing they can't do is stop the run, but that doesn't keep them from winning. All they really have to do is pass block like they did today.

        • The Rams are highly inconsistent... as well as the Seahawks. Perhaps it is because of the coaching.

          • The chiefs suck. The sooner you accept this, the better.
            Dude.

I'm a Chargers fan. I hope they suck this week, and don't play well.

But inconsistency can change, especially with a team like the Rams. I think Martz is doing a pretty good job for the most part this year. I like the way he put a little fear in them this week. It's the first time that he really did that. He has high hopes for this team. That's why he gets so made when they play so poorly.

Yeah, if you get rid of the coach . Martz may know his offenses, but he's a nut. He isn't that good in getting a consistently high level of performance from his team and never has been. AND, he's probably the worst clock manager in the game... and by a long shot.

Oh well, that's not going to happen for inconsistency. He would have to consisitently lose to lose his job. I think he has some good qualities though. With our defense mediocre at best though. The games are going to be close, and that's when Martz looks ugly though. Still, I think we have a good shot at the playoffs this year if the players step up like they did yesterday.

                    • The Rams' biggest problem is that, now that Lovie is gone, their defense is not getting them turnovers but still giving up yards. This neutralizes a lot of the advantages the offense has enjoyed and creates a much more level playing field for opponents.

The fact that they drafted a RB in the first round is all you have to know. Defense will always take a back seat in St. Louis, so they will never be a true powerhouse. (But they will always be a go-to fantasy team resource. )

                      • I was shocked to see the Rams go with nickel and dime defenses through out the game Sunday on 2nd and 10. Especially when the Seahawks kept running successfully and picking up first downs, and their passing game wasn't working for ****. It worked though. Luckily Aneas Williams forced a fumble on Alexander. They are trying for the fumbles, so the fumbles should come. They aren't getting as much pressure on the QB though to get as many ints though. It's probably because Wistrom is in Seattle now.

I agree with this. Martz is a GREAT offensive coordinator (I have called him an offensive genius at times), but can't manage a clock or do the other things a good Head Coach does. I think you get into the playoffs, but not much further.

And Martz has GOT to run the ball more.

                          • Its not just choosing to run, but choosing to run out of his base formations (3 wide receivers). Lately he has been putting in 2 TEs when he wants to run. You can't telegraph your intention and expect to succeed (except maybe if you're Pittsburgh).

                              • Seattle has the right offensive scheme but not the WRs -- too many dropped passes. They could really tank once Koren Robinson's suspesion hits. I really thought they would be better this year. But inconsistent offense and horrible special teams have made them average-at-best, After being swept by the Rams, they have almost no chance to win their division.

If they don't make the playoffs, I wonder what will happen to Holmgren's status as Lord of All He Surveys...
