The whole province joined confederation at the same time, I thought.

To my knowledge Labradour was a part of the dominion of Canada since its inception but New foundland was actually a crown colony until 1949 when Britain gave it to Canada.

Well, Labrador as a whole certainly wasn't part of the Dominion at its inception (1867):



The southern part of Labrador *was* originally part of Quebec, though, as you can see (if the picture shows).

And, apparently, most of Labrador (save for the extreme coast?) was part of Quebec or the NWT until 1949:



None of that really matters, though, because on the globe, Newfoundland is the same colour as Canada, while Labrador is not. That's just plain silly.

Tannu Tuva = a strip of land that the USSR stole from Mongolia.

Sinkiang & Manchuria = well whatever. it's not like China had a working government back then anyways.

Manchuria, however, was a separate country (though a Japanese-vassal kind of separate country) between 1931 and 1945. The globe seems to show THAT border.

Something is wrong about Arabia. It was named Saudi Arabia in 1933 and the border with Yemen, not on the map, was defined in 1936.

So this puts the map of this area prior to 1933!
