I doubt there will be a ME for pc anytime soon, since most of the team is working on ME2 and dlc for ME.

Hey, it's WIERD.

She made my brothers and I buy the old systems ourselves, as she didn't think they were worth the cash.

So, we bought the 2600, the NES, and the original gameboys.


Anyhow. The first store I checked was indeed sold out of the Wii...

But not the second.

So she'll be getting one for Christmas, and I still don't see any real lack of supply locally.

Incidentally, this will now make both my mother and mother-in-law Wii players. And neither really having been players of any previous game system.

(technically my father-in-law bought the wii for himself, but has since set it aside in favor of his 360. My Mother-in-law loves the wii, however.)

Nah, i'm sure it'll be out as soon as they're allowed to. That's a huge market for very little investment (converting from x360 to PC is not so hard after all compared to other consoles)... why wouldn't you invest the time into it? And after all, it's not like there's much skillset overlap between "people making new game content" and "people converting from x360 to PC"...

MS probably bought the exclusive contract for the 360. I expect they'll treat ME like Halo in its PC releases.

From what I hear, MS has not yet secured exclusivity for ME, but that deals are being pitched around to keep from going to the PS3, at least.

The box clearly has the "Only on Xbox" stamp, which means they've entered into some form of exclusivity agreement in the console space already.

Well that just goes to show how uninterested I am in the Wii as a console for me, I too worry about it's 'gimmickyness' and the gameplay experience for the 'serious' gamer.
What I don't do is label it devil-spawn and throw my toys around in anger that it is selling so well and introducing traditional non-gamers into the fold.

Still if it had a GBA+DS player thing(like the GC has the GBA player), then I would probably get it for my partner.

In other news, my hunch about the PS2 remaining as probably still the best console choice gets some backing:

I'm not totally sure, but I thought the DS did hook up to the Wii? At least to some degree? Something about pokemon, DS, and Wii, anyway. Have to ask my son.

Jeez, I've only seen the ads for Eternal Sonata and I know I wouldn't want it. That voice acting took me back to Resident Evil in its badness, and the art style was ludicrous. You'd need gameplay from hell to save that.
