Bioware has nothing to do with this game, unfortunately, as their name stands for quality.

It's made by Obsidian and published by Infogreed. A very bad mix as it appears.

I'm playing version 1.00 in English right now. Patches don't work and the game crashes to desktop roughly every 5 minutes, no joke! Their QA belongs fired. Or yet better, shot.

I don't think Obsidian does a bad job. They made a lot of improvements in KOTOR2. Had they not been rushed by Infogreed, it would have been better than the original.

Also remember that NWN1 had a fairly poor debut as well. It had to be patched regularly since then. If Obsidian is able to make the commitment that Bioware did, then I think it will be a great game as well, but we'll see.

Played some more. The crashes got less, but still happen.

Great game, content-wise. Quests look sound, not too hard, not too easy. The interface needs a LOT of work, though. And if you introduce in-game online patching, I expect it to work, goddammit, and not face obscure checksum errors all the time and being linked to non existing "critical rebuild programs"!

NWN1 put the bar fairly high. Let's see if this game can jump over it. I don't hold my breath on this, but wonders happen.

Most (like Ralph) seem to like the game if they can get patch the crashes and UI problems.

Thus I hope it is patchable - as mentioned above NWN was trashed on release for its bugs but came out fine.

The game is ugly and sluggish. There is no excuse for a game with this high system specs to look so bad and respond so badly. Laggy badly rendered models lumber about and poke each other with swords. Sure, the spell effects are nice, but the models and textures are VILE. There is no good reason why the game should play so much worse than KOTOR. The voice acting stinks. The plot is utterly linear. A total waste of 25 pounds, and its not going to take me away from Guildwars: Nightfall, which is a joy to play and looks amazing.

Let's hope it's fixed with patches, and I'm sure some good stuff will be moded to it... The original was great for MP...

Well I still don't have it because my mate said he'd get it for my birthday (which was in September, but I'm patient. ), but I'm not going to tell him not to get it.

I'll still keep playing (and DMing) at Folderol, regardless of how good NWN2 is.

I'm not sure they'll completely redesign the game with patches. NWN1 not only plays better, it also LOOKS better.
