  • Glad the game is working better for you Sir Ralph.

I'm pretty far into Act III, and the battles are getting somewhat more challenging. Earlier in the game I could just let the AI do it's thing, but now I find myself taking full advantage of being able to control all my characters. Qara has been a paticular favorite lately - nothing like lining up some IGMS's against some of the stronger baddies. In fact, I had one battle in which Qara pretty much single-handly won the battle with a bunch of fire walls and a few fire balls mixed in. It was fun watching the undead trying to march through five or six layers of fire.

    • Can you control them well now? I recall someone on forums saying the control was broken in the release version.

      • The thing that was broken on release was cut scenes got screwed up if you weren't controlling your main character - that was fixed in 1.02. At least that's the only thing that was broken that I am aware of. I've been controlling them (using 1.02 and the 1.03 beta) with no problems.

The 1.03 patch is "official" now and should be available with the auto-updater - need to roll back to 1.02 first if you installed the beta:

        • I think I found a computer that can play NWN2.

The chess match between Garry Kasparov and IBM's Deep Blue in 1997 was the showdown of man vs. machine: the world's greatest chess player versus the world's greatest chess-playing computer.

Is it worth several hundred million to play a computer game? would that be wasteful?

          • Yeah, and what are you going to use to play this game with the graphics maxed?

Leave the PS3 out of this!

              • Ok, I am through. For the first time, I may add, as I'll play it through several more times to test builds, until some decent modules show up.

I ended up Wizard 1, Fighter 6, Arcane Archer 10, Neverwinter Nine 3. Next characters will probably be a pure wizard, a cleric and some kind of multiclassed tank, perhaps a RDD. I don't know yet in what order.

Nice game, if it weren't for the numerous bugs and crashes.

                  • OMG! What a lame-ass ending.

Bob the guy from Obsidian's mailroom must have been recruited to do the end-game narration.

Good game up until that (for me, anyway )

                          No, but...

                          Spoiler:
... all of your companions are killed by a cave-in and you (the "hero") are never seen again! Only your cape is found... queue sequel with no messy companion-relation-carryover.

Edit: Oh, and there's a crappy slide-show that wraps up the story-line of all the NPCs you left behind with a voice-over worthy of Bob the mailroom guy.
