  • Williams got .8 'unit of support' or whatever the **** esoteric measure you've found while Plunkett got 3.0!
Which reinforces my point. Thank you Albie!

It's standard deviations of support, it attempts to measure defensive contributions, and asks the question, "what would the QB have to do to win the game, if we took into account everything but the QB's participation.

    • Just give up, admit you're wrong and at least stop lying and twisting things all the ****ing time and I won't have to keep bashing you over the head making you look like more of a fool than you already are...
Careerwise, Williams is the ****tiest QB to ever win a superbowl. So far the only argument you've presented is, "he was MVP, how can a MVP be the ****tiest?" Well, that's what the stats show. If you've got another QB who is ****tier and less accomplished in his career, I'd like to see it. Plunkett is 50 percent better.

See that point differential? They were not the best team that year in the division.

They were the 8th best NFC team in offense. Defensively they were 3rd.

They were rated 9-7 by expected wins, so they got into the playoffs through luck.
        That's funny. They were 9.3-6.7 expected W-L.

The 2013 Chargers were 9.2-6.8 expected W-L but they actually were 9-7 so I guess that means they got into the playoffs through luck.

At least Williams' Bucs got to the NFC championship game

        We've come full circle, mother****er.

Uh, yeah, the '79 Bucs were lucky. They didn't deserve the division, and they were a game above their expected wins. This allowed them to tie the Bears who were 10-6 that year, and take the division through conference wins tiebreaker.

The Chargers were below their expected wins, but managed to enter the playoffs by winning one game more than the others.

Do you not understand how expected wins work?

Yeah, when his RB put up 200+ and put them 17-0 up against the Eagles. Then they got exposed in the championship game.

Kind of like the 1999 Bills, then, right?

I mean they were #2 in rushing attempts but 24th in pass attempts. Can't get more run-first than the Flutie-led Bills.

Jonathan Linton was their number 1 RB that year. Now there's an all star. Antowain Smith had a terrible year. No Bill topped 700 yards.

Flutie threw for 200+ yards in 5 wins that season. Williams threw for 200+ in one win.

This should be your favourite team of all time, albie. QB rushes for 500 plus in a team with a RBBC. I'm not quite sure why you don't love Flutie as much as I do.

You know how many Black people in their mid-to-late 30's with no ties to Washington DC are Redskins fans now ONLY because of Doug Williams? A ton. Believe me.

Doug Williams is still a big deal in the Black community. ESPN did a documentary on Williams just last year. Here's the trailer:

“It translated into so many different aspects of life, whether it was in government, whether it was in business, or whatever, that an African American could win the biggest game, in the most popular sport, at the most popular position and the most leadership of positions.” – Warren Moon, on the impact of Williams’ performance

And yet they were #2 in rushing attempts and 24th in pass attempts. Riddle me that one. Supposedly ****ty run game and yet they ran 519 times and only passed 513.

I already broke down the 1998 and 1999 Bills game by game a couple of years ago and demonstrated that Flutie was a mediocre QB who just had to not lose games for the defensive and run-first Bills.

And they say I'm racist. Glad to see we finally know why so many words have been spilled defending him. If he were white you'd not give a damn.

The ones fans are those old enough to have seen him and the hype machine. Those who started in on the 90s, have zero memory of him. Which is as it should be because he is a trivia question.

Sounds about right. Overrated player who lucks into a starting job he didn't earn, plays well in one game and then done.

If it weren't for the color of his skin would he have any fans at all?

Sounds like offensive balance to me. Their running game wasn't exactly all-world.

Right. You don't see the fact that he was close to being the leading rusher on a team that was RBBC as significant, where Lindon was the leading rusher and nobody broke more than 700 yards.

So the team that does worse than it's expected wins is the better team? Is that what you're saying?
A team that does worse than it's expected wins is better than it's record. A team that does better than it's expected wins is worse than it's record.

So the 2013 Chargers really were a 9-7 team any way you slice it and with a lower expected win than the 1979 Bucs, that means...

Balance is defined by the ratio of rushes to passes.

Hrm? The 2013 Chargers had almost exactly the same expected wins as the 1979 Bucs. This would mean that the teams were almost equally talented vs the rest of their respective leagues.

                              This is not hard, Alby.

                              1979 Bucs = 9.3 - 6.7 = 10 - 6
                              2013 Chargers = 9.2 - 6.8 = 9 - 7

Bucs were luckier, by about a game.

Plunkett's not the best QB by value outside of Canton. That would be Ken Anderson for the Bengals. Are the two rings enough for induction, in your opinion? I'm more familiar with the baseball standards than the football ones.
