D/ST is _really_ tight going into the final regular season week. 1 game separates 1st from 7th (Three teams at 8-4, four at 7-5). All three 8-4 teams seem like locks based on their PF, but four 7-5 teams will have to be reduced to 3 in the upcoming week, and at least one of the 8-4 teams will not get a bye (perhaps two, if Jag wins his matchup and Berz or I lose). Nine teams are mathematically in it (out of 12) with one week to go, which is pretty incredible IMO.

The playoff contenders are also locked in a pretty tough set of matchups - MRT is playing me for his playoff life while I'm playing for a bye; Jaguar is playing Koy for his playoff life and a chance at a bye for each of them; while Berz has the inside line to a bye (facing Joncha). Sloww and Albie both have challenging matchups as well with 6-6 teams (Flash and Spaced) who could make a last minute gasp for the playoffs if several of the 7-5 teams lose.

He was playing the Eagles.

Since firing Juan Castillo, the Eagles D have given up 13 passing TD's and 0 INT's. I don't know the current numbers but until this week, they were also giving up 72% completion rate to opposing QB's and a QB rating over 100.

Cam having his best game of the year against the Eagles should not have been surprising.

Asomugha looks like the worst starting CB in the league. It's not completely his fault. It's just that the Eagles play a lot of zone and have weak safeties. Asomugha, being a big CB, thrives in man-to-man press; this requires strong safeties who can recover for him if his man beats the press. The Seahawks have worked this masterfully this year. Their absolutely huge (and now suspended) CB's in Browner and Sherman can afford to get physical with WR's and lose the speed they inevitably lose with their size because they have some of the best safeties in the league in Earl Thomas and Kam Chancellor backing them up.

Likewise, DRC is a ball-hawk who, like Asante Samuel previously, needs strong safety play to allow him to make a move on the ball; otherwise, he gives up the big play just as Asomugha does.

The entire Eagles defense shows the futility of lumping together talented athletes and thinking they can succeed in any circumstance that doesn't play to their strengths.

By the way, the Eagles just put Desean Jackson on IR and released Pro Bowl pass rusher Jason Babin who had 5.5 sacks on the year.


And no, I'm not a slut. I live in Philadelphia so I'm well aware of all the Eagles' drama. Doesn't mean I like them.

Sorry, Jrabbit. He's dead man walking, lame duck. The only reason he hasn't been fired yet is because of respect for his history and no coordinator on the staff should ever get close to even being considered for a head coaching position (Mornhinweg? Bowles? ). So no sense in having a lame duck coordinator turned acting HC bringing even more confusion and muddying up rebuilding.

There is zero doubt he will be gone after this season. He lost his job several weeks ago.


My guess is we'll have a show 'resignation' following Week 17.

I totally agree, Alby. 2012 has been an unmitigated disaster and Reid should be gone.

BTW- #6 in points scored, 11-1 record with a 2 1/2 game advantage on the #1 team with 1 game to go in the regular season. Sometimes things just fall your way...
