I disagree with this. We have a pretty good group in IDP these days. The days of abandoned teams are long behind us.
Plenty of evidence to the contrary even just from last year.
Plenty of evidence to the contrary from this year, in fact your opponent just now gave you a gimme win in Auction.
I hope Brady kicks your ass tomorrow. That would be nice to see.Last edited by Ben Kenobi; December 10, 2012, 01:03.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

My IDP is going to be too little too late. DST, the team simply fell apart for about 3 weeks and blew me out of the water.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

Larry Fitz is now WR36. Which makes him a WR3.
He is also Flex/65. Which makes him about 5 spots out of a starting position at FLEX.
Solid backup material this year. You'd want to draft him in the 6th or 7th round.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

2. I've scored 232 pts in Auction this week, with Aaron Hernandez still to go.

I did wish you well, but then you just *had* to be your usual douchey self. As usual you ***** about the **** to cover up when you directly benefit from it. Case in point, me dropping Larry Fitz and then you covering your ass by complaining about 'competitive balance', while making sure you scooped him first. Now you're the direct beneficiary from a team who quit, and again, you fail to credit a team that stuck it all the way through.
I'm actually shocked that 1, you're complaining about a team scoring 85 points on you despite the fact that they quit and have an IR'ed player on the roster, and two, you scored 225+ points in a week.
I bet if you were in my spot, you would have quit already. Guarantee it.Last edited by Ben Kenobi; December 10, 2012, 02:14.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Was making up a list of players who sucked even more than Larry Fitz, but here are the real 'Milk carton' players. As in "where are they now"? These players were all ranked by yahoo in the top 100. It's not enough to merely get injured, but you have to be a good player, get injured and stay injured to come off this list.
1.Greg Jennings
2.Peyton Hillis
3.Kevin Smith
4.Ryan Williams
5.Beanie Wells
6.Evan Royster

For the record: I have never quit on any fantasy season, in any sport -- on Poly, FFZ, or elsewhere.
For the record: I've been in leagues where bottom-dwellers would cut quality players after the trade deadline, significantly changing playoff scenarios. And YOU are the guy who, just a couple years ago, made a bunch of roster moves after your season was literally over, potentially impacting those who had playoff rosters to set. So yeah, I think about competitive balance and worry about agendas when I see people making unexpected moves after the trade deadline. And yeah, I mentioned it. Once. In a timely fasion. So sue me.
--For you to still be upset about my competitive balance comment from is insane. YOU'RE the one who keeps bringing it up, posting "Fitz Project" reports every week to continually re-justify your actions. Seems a bit defensive if you ask me... Let it go, dude. I did.
--I picked up Vernon Davis the morning after you cut him. I very deliberately went to bed without picking him up that night, even though Fitz had already been claimed. Go ahead, look it up.
-I don't know what "credit" you think you're owed for playing your team. Gee, you did what was expected of everyone, despite having a bad year. Are we all supposed to thank you for not being a jerk?
--I don't care about the 85 points, and I have no reason to "hide" the fact that Rogue (whoever that is) started Andre Brown. He did the same thing last week. And started two positions on Bye in Week 11. Did you bring that to anyone's attention? Of course not; didn't fit your "attack the Rabbit" narrative.
The "complaint" (which was actually just a statement of fact, see post #1201) about Seattle D scoring 85 today is much more a reference for Jaguar, who devised the scoring system we're using in Auction. It was pursuant to earlier notes I made about the too-high defensive scoring (including the Bears D, which is mine). Why? To determine if the scoring system should be adjusted for next year.
I know this is difficult to comprehend, but not everything I post is about you.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Pretty much says it all.
1, my entire offensive bench was devastated by injuries in IDP. The only player who was of any value whatsoever was Nate Washington. Every single one of my bench players went down, and went down hard.
2, my GMing sucked. I only improved the team by about a point weekly on the offensive side, over my starting players. TJ Hilton is the only offensive acquisition of note to be startable, over my drafted players. As good as Cecil Shorts has been, he's been only as good as Stephen Jackson when averaged out over the entire year. While I did manage to keep the team filled, on the bench, I wasn't able to improve on the starters that I did have.
3, Team value and performance overall was low. Assuming zero management and starting only the drafted players, I would have performed still as the second last of all the teams on the board. That tags directly to the draft.
Ray Rice, drafted RB1, performed as RB4. That's a pass.
Larry Fitz, drafted WR2, performed as WR36 That's a bust.
Stephen Jackson, drafted as RB11 performed as RB23, That's a bust.
Michael Turner, drafted as RB17 performed as RB18. That's a pass.
Philip Rivers, drafted as QB7, performed as QB15. That's a bust.
Stevie Johnson, drafted as WR19, performed as WR17, That's a pass.
Vernon Davis, drafted as TE6, performed as TE14.
Dumervil is my best player on my team as DE3. I would expect given a normal distribution to see at least 1 top player at a position. That I don't even have a player in the top 2 in any position, and only 2 in the top 10 at any position, is basically the entire reason why my team is bad. I should expect to see 4 players in the top 4. I only have 2, Dumervil and Ray Rice. In the top 10 I only have Ray Rice on the offensive side of the ball.
Managment was only slighly above GM moves + team distribution at 1780, at around 1820 for the season. So my total management added a value of roughly 3 points a year. Robomanaging with no GM moves over the season would have left me at around 125 points on average for the season. Me managing my team added about 11 points a match on average from the expected robomanagement.
Changes for next year.
1,5,3,3,10 QB tiers.
To get a top tier QB - draft a QB in the first round. Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Ryan and Manning, once again were the top 5 tier QBs. So the general consensus was correct.
Round 1, draft a QB
Round 2, draft an RB.
RB consensus was very low. Of the RBs listed in the top 10, only 2 were correct, Rice and Foster. That's it. That was the problem that I noticed when drafting. Only Foster + Rice seemed worthwhile. All the rest would be available later. QBs, seemed a bit more open. Having pick 2 meant that I would either go for QB or go for RB. Gore I wanted, and should have taken him with pick 3. This, was in actuality wrong. I needed to do more research on RBs. I did ok with RBs, all three were productive and gave me decent value for my money.
Draft from high consensus to low consensus. QB first, then RB1.
This year WR consensus > RB consensus. RB consensus was abysmal. Of the earliest WR drafts, Calvin, White, Julio, Harvin and Welker were high consensus scores. So we got about half of those for WR. Once again JR did well with WRs, having Cobb, Green and Dez, and is the winner on the low consensus high scoring players. Plus, he has AP and Doug Martin. That gives him 5 top players. Plus Brees. Plus Gronko.
Basically JR has a QB2, 3 of the top 5 WRs, RBs 1 and 2, TE 1 and that's his entire starting corps. For K he has Matt Bryant. He has the second highest scoring linebacker,
Basically JR has a godly team except for Patrick Peterson. He has a lock on EVERY position.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Alright, let's take a stroll down JR's *****ing about 'competitive balance'.
First pick. Remember JR picked first in the league. He picks Drew Brees. Drew Brees is sucking this year, he's only QB3 for poor JR who's worried about competitive balance. Only Peyton Manning and Matt Ryan are better.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Ok, let's scroll down a bit. JR having Drew Brees sucking means that he's got to make up for it. Pick number 1 in Round 3 was Adrian Peterson, Pick number 1 in Round 5 was Doug Martin. Who, just so happen to be number 1 and number 2 RBs in the league. That gives JR QB3, RB1 and RB2, all on the same ****ing team.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.
