  • Oh, but you couldn't possibly be done? No. Not at all. Pick number 2 for JR was Gronko who, despite not playing a game, is now TE2, soon to be TE number ****ing 1.

So for those of you keeping score at home, first five picks, Brees, Gronko, AP, someone else and Martin. RB1 and RB2. TE 1 and QB3. All on the same ****ing team.

    • But, who was pick number 4, Ben? He must surely have sucked.

AJ Green. Followed by Brandon Lloyd, and then Dez Bryant. Then Kevin Smith (who sucked), and Pick 9 was Randall Cobb. So for those of you keeping score at home, of the first nine picks,

JR missed only two, Brandon Lloyd and Kevin Smith.

QB3, RB1, RB2, TE2, WR1, WR3, and WR7. All on the same team. That's a starting lineup folks, without a single player outside of the top7. In any position.

      • But, surely, you must be done? There are other positions.

        Yeah, there are. Like Kicker.

Matt Bryant. K2, behind only Tynes.

Linebacker? Luke Kuelchy. LB2. Actually picked by A dead horse in the last round, which JR picked up. DB? DB4, Courtland Finnegan.

The only two positions that JR does not have a player in the top 10 are his DB2 and his LB2, his LB being in the top 11.

And you're worried about competitive balance? All the rest of us could pool together our entire ****ing teams.

What a crock of **** that you whine when I drop FITZ.

There's a reason I'm pointing out your hypocrisy. What, are you worried that someone might actually compete with you? Yeah, that's what you're most afraid of. You've got a massive monopoly and still take the time to whine about how I am going to hurt your team.

**** you, JR. Now you can never, ever, whine again about this because you are ****ing full of it. ***.

        • Personally, I think it's very poor sportsmanship. Benching an underperforming but highly-regarded player is understandable, but we have deep benches, so releasing players of this caliber is uncalled-for. Yet another in Ben's string of snit-fits when things don't go his way.
And this is the response of JR when Fitz was released. Poor sportsmanship? My ***. Whining about players being released? Why would that bother JR? Because he has every ****ing other good player on his team. **** you JR. Just, **** you.

I hope you get bounced your first playoff match. Would serve you right for whining about a setup that might never been seen again. Goddamn. You have the best players at every ***ing position and you still complain?!

          • So because I'm having a good year, I'm not allowed to have an opinion? Adorable.

Look, we all have good years and bad years, dependent on a lot of factors, both inside and outside the draft. Hell, using the same draft lists and strategies, my two non-Poly teams finished 7-7 and 5-9 this year -- with Brees and Brady at QB. So it goes.

And while I appreciate your detailed tribute to my drafting prowess, I've done this enough to know that I've had a very fortunate year in Poly IDP. Good players fell to me. Injuries have been manageable. Risky picks worked out well for once. But luck is a huge factor. Certainly I wouldn't have gotten half the players I did if the manager drafting right over me at #2 hadn't left them for the taking.

            So thanks, Ben Kenobi!

            • Meanwhile, Spaced and I are having a very very close matchup in D/ST playoffs round 1 - 4 points and change separating us with Shayne Graham going for me tonight (I really hope that 'change' doesn't turn out to be relevant - if Graham scores 4, I'll be really sad...) That will be of course for the right to face Berz in the semifinals, with Jaguar going on to face Koy in the other semifinals matchup.

Go, high scoring NE-HOU game with at least a few field goals!

              • Alas, I think you have me,

mistakes.... all season long, and bad match-ups.

Needed to start either Reggie Bush (23.95) over Ahmad Bradshaw (6.05), or NY Giants Defense (30.56) over Arizona Defense (2.11)...really Arizona 58-0??

Either of those, or both and I would have curb-stomped you.
We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

                • gotta say this was by far my worst year in pts against - ouch. I sucked in 4 of 7 leagues

The "complaint" (which was actually just a statement of fact, see post #1201) about Seattle D scoring 85 today is much more a reference for Jaguar, who devised the scoring system we're using in Auction. It was pursuant to earlier notes I made about the too-high defensive scoring (including the Bears D, which is mine). Why? To determine if the scoring system should be adjusted for next year.
yup, i was shocked to get 60+ from SF a while back... and maybe bumping rec/rush yd to 5 yds/pt and reducing the advantage WR have over RB just a bit, maybe -.1 per rush and .1 for catches

i like the stats over all though, dont know if minor tweaks will matter much... somebody would have to look at defensive output in games like Sea vs AZ to see the best way to tone it down.

hope you dont mind notes and suggestions, Jag

No, it means your *****ing about 'competitive' balance is the biggest crock of **** ever.

Look, we all have good years and bad years, dependent on a lot of factors, both inside and outside the draft. Hell, using the same draft lists and strategies, my two non-Poly teams finished 7-7 and 5-9 this year -- with Brees and Brady at QB. So it goes.
JR, I've never complained once about how well your team is doing. What pisses me off is you whining. Stop whining about competitive balance when you have had everything break your way this year, especially not to the player who's 1-12, and cutting his number 2 pick because he is no longer rosterable, and I need help now, from players who actually produce. Was it the right move? Yes. Fitz got SFA, a total of 3 points after cutting him. I feel no desire to apologize for making the right move for my team, especially not to the sack of **** who's leading the league and still *****ing and ****ing.

Certainly I wouldn't have gotten half the players I did if the manager drafting right over me at #2 hadn't left them for the taking.
Yeah, that's sporting. Taking the dig at me. **** off, JR.

Considering how your picks, 1,3,5,7, and 9, were all in front of me, the only picks I could have stopped were 2 and 4. 6 and 8 sucked. And I wasn't going to pick Hernandez anyways, he was on my 'let someone else worry about TEs' list. Didn't work out well, but at least now I know we have enough data this year to know that the performance wasn't a fluke.

Actually, you weren't, as it turns out. Looks like Guynemer ended up winning.
Small consolation I guess, but you made a nice run at it the past few weeks.

                            Thanks JR.

This was harsh, Berz was only 5 short himself. Having to sit there and watch this game with the season on the line and having it come so close?

And getting to watch this festival of froth for the genius of Hobo Bill?
