Well, seeing as Albert finds it's confusing and he's an outsider observer, I'll keep it for myself.

I wish I could figure out why I struggle so much with the version that's up there.

To apply your story to the current situation, it would seem that last year during the draft, you gave up on using a full on saw, and starting using a chisel (didn't understand the rules the way they were written, so rewrote them in a format you could understand). This year, you went back to using the full on saw. I think the entire conversation could have been avoided if you had continued using a chisel (best case) or suggested a rule "syntax" change before the draft began.

If it pisses you off once a year, do you remember why it pissed you off when you can do something about it or when you're in the middle of a tree?

You check if he has a DL, LB, and/or DB. If he has none, you pick the best available player.

If he already has an LB (or a DB), you pick the best available DL, LB, or DB, same as though he had no defensive player.
The only exception is if he were to have a DL. Then, you pick the best available LB or DB.

An impartial, objective observer can understand this.

I actually did it the correct way the first time, but stopped to recheck the rules and got myself confused.

You only see it that way because you have a disability. I've already posted that I think the way your brain works is broken. It's like being color blind. Everyone else sees a color/logic one way, and you just don't. The difference is instead of not seeing numbers on a pad, you don't comprehend things like everyone else does.

Refer to your discussion about Diablo or any other discussion you've had. You say you don't like D3 because of b.net pkers... but D3 does not have pking... you say you don't like how they turned it into an MMO... but D3 only allows 4 players in a game, whereas D2 allowed 8.

I'd rather take that to that thread than here. Here I'm more interested in how the rules are getting you to read them correctly, that is all. I'm missing some cues here that you are having no trouble picking up.

Confirmed. I'm clueless on draft procedure, and have not altered my lists to accommodate the (semi-bizarre) league settings.
Come to think of it, I haven't developed a budget plan either.

To update Sparrowhawk on my list making, for the past three days or so, I've gotten to a 6 sheet spreadsheet book. It started out as a single sheet of players I might want to take next (short lists of 3 or 4 for various positions). Then expanded to a second sheet of players taken (to keep track of that), a third sheet of players taken sorted by both position and team (to see who may take what and to better track players taken), a fourth sheet of offensive players (and kickers) that I may want in the later rounds that may have been overlooked (Titus Young came from this), a fifth sheet of IDP players (that was actually the third sheet and had others inserted in front of it; this was a spin off of my db list from the first sheet and resulted in my "gone to far" post), and a sixth sheet of lists that I was holding for others that I made after Berz's first list he sent (to keep better track).

Meh, it's easier to keep it all in one worksheet and just change sorting as needed. Excel sorts/filters so quickly anyway that there's no reason to do otherwise.

I have two sheets per league - one for positional rankings, one for people's rosters - all in one book.
A little color coding for at-a-glance info, and all listings include bye week as part of the name field.
