One thing that I don't like about picking last in both leagues is the strain of not wanting to duplicate teams.

I can certainly understand that after the Jamaal Charles disaster of last year.

I recently had a discussion on this very topic with Zopper. I like to diversify; he prefers to double down.
Yet this year I ended up with Brees in two leagues.

I'll double or triple down on players I believe to be very undervalued. I'll diversify if it's two players with similar profiles (Arian Foster and Ray Rice) where everyone knows they're about equal.

I tend to diversify. I usually don't pick the same player year after year, unless I can get him for the price I set at the outset. So far, working well this year!

I think it's hard to diversify at certain points. If you are in similar positions in both draft you'll likely wind up with the same set of players available in later rounds at your point.

Usually at that point the players are more interchangeable.

Sparrow, I don't see why you should be unhappy, Gore + Wallace are excellent picks. I had Gore on my list too.

I'm not unhappy with either Gore or Wallace, I was just ready to pick Jennings instead of Wallace...whenever I "just" miss out on a player, it makes me wonder if I had flipped my picks if I could have gotten both (If I had taken Jennings is Round 4, could I have gotten Gore in round 5?...we will never know now).

Either way it's all good. But I was waiting for you to pick so i could post Guynemer's pick and then pick Jennings for myself. I had to laugh when I opened Guynemer's PM and saw that he took Jennings.

I'm telling you right now - your choice was Gore or Jennings. If you hadn't picked Gore when you did, I would have picked him and he wouldn't have come around back to you.

Fortunately, I've been doing this long enough that I can handle it.

It's just the way things fell. After I took Brees #1 here, I ended up picking #3 in the FFZ draft, and Rodgers/Brady went 1-2. Go figure.
I can second-guess Brees over Rodgers, but once that was done, the die was cast.
