I seriously considered Alex Smith as my backup (I was last to draft a backup).....until I realized his by week is the same as Brady's....which might have defeated the purpose

Not sure what expectations to have for Smith, although SF had an impressive season last year, he continued to unimpress me. I think I would compare him to Tebow (not in style or technique or anything) to Tim Tebow in that his team got maximum use out of him, by molding the game around him....not so much winning because of him, but finding ways to win with him. I expect Smith to get the wins again this year, I'm just not sure how he will translate as a fantasy QB.

QB scoring looks a little bit low in our first week. This is in part because QBs had a bad week! We're down about 10 yards per game, we're up a bit on interceptions, and we're down a bit on TDs. Only Matt Ryan and RGIII really had unequivocally-brilliant games.

Going back to last season, games against my dad have come down to tie-breakers the last two times and 3 of the last 4 games.
FYI- during the course of a 13 week season (6 games a week for 78 total games), tie breakers are used probably less than 10 times a year.
