That's a serious move. Dallas is the team to beat in the West, with Detroit in a freefall.

Montreal will do fine. Corey Price is the next Dryden. I watched him play, he's awesome. Very calm and collected.

He made Huet expendable.

Dallas is clearly the better team, do you now agree with me? Before you said the reason Dallas was better than Minnie in standings/stats was:

Tougher Division.

Vancouver, Calgary, Colorado and Edmonton are stronger then Anaheim, San Jose, Phoenix and LA.

The games against Phoenix and LA are what makes the difference in the standings.

Seem to me like your opinion changes whenever it favours the Canucks or not.

Anaheim and Dallas are the two favourites in the west. Vancouver isn't even close to being up in that league.

No, I see no fundamental "holes" in Dallas which is why they're one of the favourites. Saying they had an offensive "hole" when they are 1 goal shy of Detroit for leading the WC in goals is retarded.

While I agree that Huet would have been gone to UFA at the end of the season, I still don't see what they got for him as being enough. To me having Huet available as you head into the playoffs is worth more than his salary and a draft pick.

Maybe I don't value later round picks enough but I frankly don't understand ANY playoff/contending team giving up ANYONE that is a solid roster player for a draft pick.

At present I would have preferred the Price/Huet tandem to the alternatives.


I also didn't totally get the Campbell trade to SJ since I would have thought he would have helped Buffalo more than Bernier down the stretch but at least they extracted a first-rounder as well
