I have been reading some interesting findings done by Cloud Research about shy voters, how pollsters can identify them, and better quantify them. It turns out around 11% of GOP voters are shy voters (don’t want to say who they are voting for), 10% of independents are shy voters, but only 4% of Democrats are shy voters. If a poll doesn’t correct for this the error bars on the poll would average around 6 base points higher then the existing error bars.
