  • I am certain that Roberts and the 3 left leaning Justices would never get involved with directing congress in such a way (no matter the circumstances).

I am fairly sure that some portion of the 3 Justices that Trump selected would never do that either, but I am not certain. It could be all 3 or just 1, even 0 but probably not 0.

I would expect that Alito would be willing to. I am not sure about Thomas, but wouldn't put it past him.

I do not think that even Alito would direct Congress to invalidate the election based on the evidence presented.

They won't, there's absolutely no way. It's a pipe dream and not even close to getting on the radar of the Supreme Court

    • Funny that they didn't also reject the TX case. Maybe they haven't reviewed it.

It was a terse, one-sentence decision by SCOTUS:
"The application for injunctive relief presented to Justice Alito, and by him referred to the Court, is denied," read the order, which did not suggest any dissent among the court's nine justices.

You are correct sir. Good call.

According to the President's attorney, Jenna Ellis, the case was not dismissed. Emergency relief was denied. Not the same thing.

                    • So the election goes forward.

There is no way to overturn an election result that has been applied. Anything that does not change the electoral vote for 14th doesn't impact the election. The supreme court can say that something is correct or incorrect, but that won't change who is president if they have already become president. It can just provide an argument for an impeachment and removal. And it can create penalties (but not change outcomes) or, most likely, change behaviors going forward.

(And many of the Justices, including sympathetic Alito, have signaled that there is nothing they can do after today to change what will happen on the 14th.)

Some people are still in denial.

No. The election is in dispute. This has to be worked out within the system. You are just going with what people tell you. But it is a disputed election. Biden has not been elected.

Repeating that last sentence over and over again won't make it any more true.
