How many times has the Bible been translated and rewritten anyways?
You can also check it against later editions (like the Vulgate, etc), and you can see the differences between the two.
One - there are not very many difference between Vaticanus and modern Greek editions of the bible. They are very similar to one another, so we can be reasonable confident in textual accuracy. This, btw was not available in the time of King James (Vaticanus being discovered, and collated in the 19th, after it was revealed to be sitting in the Vatican library).
Two, the bible has far older manuscript history than any other ancient text, including the Odyssey. We have more and older copies of the bible than we do anything else by about a factor of ten. So if you're complaining about scripture not being textually accurate, that same complaint applies to everything from ancient times.
