In 2007, the State of Oregon enacted the Oregon Equality Act (also known as SB2), the landmark law to protect lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people from discrimination. (and yeah, I was in a rush earlier so I pulled the wrong state)

There are two other bakeries just in Gresham which is a burb of Portland, right in the same area as Sweet Cakes by Melissa. One of these explicitly label themselves as a 'liberated bakery'

So what... that still doesn't give a company the right to discriminate. They still broke the law.

I cannot conclude that there was any harm incurred in sweet cakes choosing to decline to do homosexual wedding cakes, as they had a perfectly good alternative nearby.

I can see why you think that way since you are a bigot. But discrimination is discrimination. Using your justification, people can discriminate against Blacks, Jews, or anybody since most businesses have competition. They broke the law.

Were they a Christian bakery? Yes. Did they advertise openly as a Christian bakery? Also yes. Were there other bakeries nearby? Also yes.

Still not proof that they were "targeted"... Maybe they were the best bakery, maybe somebody recommended them to the couple... who knows... but it doesn't change the law or the fact that the Bakers violated it.

The facts here are clear... The Bakers broke the law. All your the "the couple had other choices", "there was no real harm", "they targeted them" excuses changes nothing.

Back folks into a corner, you might not like what you get. There's a lot of Christians out there - enough to sink any business ran by a gay person.
