Wouldja just change your nom de tw@ttery to Mo Ron now, please ?

Benjamin Franklin delivered this famous speech, asking that the Convention begin each day's session with prayers, at a particularly contentious period, when it appeared that the Convention might break up over its failure to resolve the dispute between the large and small states over representation in the new government. The eighty one year old Franklin asserted that "the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this Truth--that God governs in the Affairs of Men." "I also believe," Franklin continued, that "without his concurring Aid, we shall succeed in this political Building no better than the Builders of Babel."

Franklin's motion failed, ostensibly because the Convention had no funds to pay local clergymen to act as chaplains.
The Constitution of the United States said little about religion. Congress adopted the First Amendment to the Constitution, which when ratified in 1791, forbade Congress to make any law

In notes for his June 8, 1789, speech introducing the Bill of Rights, Madison indicated his opposition to a "national" religion. Most Americans agreed that the federal government must not pick out one religion and give it exclusive financial and legal support.
    The Constitution :

When the Constitution was submitted to the American public, "many pious people" complained that the document had slighted God, for it contained "no recognition of his mercies to us . . . or even of his existence."

It was a slip-up. I should have said Tealiban Christians to specify, rather than all Christians. I did not mean to separate myself from the broader group that I belong in.

Stop arguing bull**** semantics. In ten minutes I could find an example of every poster doing it. Removing oneself from the equation and thinking with an objective id is a very valuable thing. And frankly, if you can't do it, there's a hard cap on how smart a person you are.

Yes. They want to have our country's laws replaced with laws based on their interpretation of the Bible, much as Taliban Muslims in countries they live in, want to replace laws with laws based on their interpretation of the Quran.

                          • Ben, Even if you taught math, I think you would find a way to distort it.
I've taught Math before. I've been a biology tutor too. My students did well; one of my biology students jumped all the way from about 30 percent to an A-.

If you're going to comment on my abilities as a teacher, perhaps you should sit in on one of my classes first, eh?

Like when you called black people N*****, and then claimed you were telling a joke?
