You wouldn't find teachers encouraging children to buy a product by a particular company troubling, thus undermining the free market?

Why do I not find it surprising that you're both stupid AND a terrible capitalist?
If some random teacher told his students that iphones were great, that would not trouble me. I would be a little confused by a school district adding "iphones are great" to the curriculum, but I don't see any reason why that would be unconstitutional.

At least some of the founding fathers realized that separating church from state and allowing(not forcing) people to have their own beliefs free of the government might just be a good thing.
Atheism is not a religion. For an atheist to say "under God" is not like you pledging to Satan. Just because people make something out of it doesn't mean we should change things.

It would be impossible for a sane mind to understand what you're getting at...If accepted a face value, it might lead someone to believe that either most to all of the 12 Astronauts were from the Nation of Texas. 3 were born or died in the state of Texas and 3 were born or died in the state of California but not one is from the Nation of Texas. They are all Americans.

I only want to pledge allegiance to the flag and my country. I don't want to pledge allegiance to God, flag and country at the same time. I would like them to be separated.

                Oh, but I do care.
As far as the pledge, I still say it. I was simply expressing my opinion in a forum where people express their opinions. You are free to disagree and even not care.

I'm just saying, when I was a teacher some kids refused to pledge. Most of them are in prison now I think.

Yeah, but they were probably just falsely accused of rape, so they don't really count.

                          • I have a problem with the "Under God" portion
Education involves broadening minds not reinforcing irrational prejudices against religion. Just because a student doesn't like what he's taught, isn't an argument against the material being taught.

I would like them to be separated.
Well, then. You can come up with your own pledge. In the meantime, the pledge is fair games for civics courses across America.

At one point during Apollo 15, 3 of the 7 men who had ever walked on the moon were from Texas. Can you name any of them? I bet you can't!
