  • Exactly. If anyone to blame for "organic" food being a thing, it's sales and marketing departments of the companies that sell that stuff.
To us, it is the BEAST.

    • I dont have religious freedom at work
      How so?

      Congress
I'm still not seeing how teaching the pledge isn't congruent with an American civics class.

It was the government that mandated the Pledge... Millions of children told every day to stand and swear their allegiance to a flag and the god it represents. Christians were martyred by Rome for not reciting their pledges
Ok, and that was, 40, 50 years ago. Things change, Berz.

Read what Jesus said for starters... He called it hypocrisy
Having them learn to recite it is a good way for them to remember it.

Learning what documents say is not the same as swearing daily oaths to the state's god
Ah. So your real issue is that it mentions God. Do you have an issue with learning to recite the Declaration of Independence?

It was America long before the Pledge
And? So it was American before they started sending Texans to the moon. Doesn't mean that it wasn't something that Americans are still proud about.

Christian missionaries flooded reservations and tribal lands and tried to commit cultural genocide by wiping out the Indian way of life.
Cultural genocide? Were they peaceful or did they attack the Christian missions?

Most Christians dont believe in liberty
Then why do we see liberty in Christian nations like America moreso than elsewhere?

      • But indoctrinating kids, state sponsored/supported/sanctioned/conducted prayer should be illegal.
Honest question, Pax. What do you believe should be included in an American civics curriculum?

Teachers dont tell children to stand and pledge their allegiance to Iphones or D&D. Now you're confusing peer pressure with the Pledge - teachers are not peers and the Pledge is an oath, not a toy you didn't get from Santa.

I'm very proud of not being a ******** **** like you.
You really should have paid attention to your teachers when they were explaining the use of analogies and logic.

Because I'm on somebody else's property working for the $$$ they give me to do a job. You're a teacher, are you free to do as you please at work? Of course not.

I'm still not seeing how teaching the pledge isn't congruent with an American civics class.
The Pledge is not the teaching of fact, its an oath children are told to recite.

What was 40-50 years ago? The Pledge hasn't changed during that time.

Having them learn to recite it is a good way for them to remember it.
Do they recite the Constitution every day too? Or anything else?

Ah. So your real issue is that it mentions God. Do you have an issue with learning to recite the Declaration of Independence?
The Declaration of Independence doesn't tell children to pledge their allegiance to god.

I dont care if people are proud of coercing children into pledging allegiance to the state's god. Felch is proud of disrupting class with his huge balls, pride is not the virtue you think it is.

Yeah, cultural genocide... Your 2nd question makes no sense.

Then why do we see liberty in Christian nations like America moreso than elsewhere?
You see liberty somewhere? You were just complaining about having to pay for contraception. And this is not a Christian nation, the 1st Amendment prohibits laws respecting an establishment of religion.

You didn't have any balls until you started standing up in school and whining about how obedient you are? I'm not sure our definitions of 'balls' are the same.

You don't know anything about America. It's about disobedience. If you hate the Pledge, you must he a nazi.

                            • As far as the pledge of allegiance..I have a problem with the "Under God" portion because once again, I feel that the U.S. is composed of many different beliefs. Many Colonists came here for religious freedom. At least some of the founding fathers realized that separating church from state and allowing(not forcing) people to have their own beliefs free of the government might just be a good thing.
