Well, this dude could probably got rid of the intruders just by making noises. That worked fine for me when a couple of guys smashed my kitchen window while I was sleeping. That of course woke me up and I started yelling and they ran away.With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Bottom line, I'd much rather defend than invade a house. Only way I'd want to invade a defended home is if I had some way of neutralizing their advantage (molotov through an upstairs window would be a good start).John Brown did nothing wrong.
