That is why you've thanked me for posts - sometimes you've got to look at a genocide and just laugh.

Printing the names and addresses sorta defeats the purpose of concealed weapons permit.

It's nothing more than pathetic, petty identity politics.

Anyone looking at the crime statistics will note the obvious: Gun control is not going to actually reduce crime. People like Diane Feinstein basically just hate people they consider to be rednecks.
But I don't want to ban guns. Nice try skippy. Way to go all culture warrior on me.

I find it interesting that freedom of the press is barely referenced in this thread. And not at all after the first few posts.

Kinda sad; I actually thought that might be what this thread was about. But no. Instead it's just another pitched battle on gun rights. Y'all are a little one-note since Sandy Hook.

Of course they have the right. That doesn't make it good judgment. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

Is there any real journalistic purpose to the story and visual aid?

No one is disputing that they are within their legal rights to print this stuff. They're just massive ****heads for doing so.

The print industry is desperate, and this got them a lot of public notice in the strange world of the Interwebs. Certainly it's difficult to construct a logical, journalistic reason to call this responsible reportage.

BTW, I wasn't suggesting that anyone here disagreed with the paper's right to print. I literally hadn't opened this thread before and was just a bit depressed that it had nothing more to offer than virtually the same posts I've already read in the other gun-related threads. Perhaps I was overly optimistic.

                        Carry on.

JR, you still believe in journalistic integrity? It hasn't existed for a long time now. If it sells papers, that's what counts, not actually reporting the facts. I can open up my local paper, and there's not a single item in it that isn't copy pasted from AP and Reuters. The only thing that would tip you off that it's an actual paper, is the page or so of 'local news', presumably scoured up from one reporter.

Or to be more accurate 26. That's school shootings since Columbine where at least 2 people have died. Expand that to just shooting incidents and your around the 80 mark.
