Knock him down with a baseball bat
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

When? Where? How do you know he'll go and kill people?

I wouldn't, but at least I'd be less shocked when it happened.

Anyone displaying a gun and isn't an obvious carrier of such (police, army etc). Ordinary people doesn't need a gun, so it's actually quite easy to determine wich people to knock down

And knowing who the local gun owners are won't tell you that at all, because the chance of that happening is essentially zero. We have had what, two school shootings in the past 13 years? Something like that.

Unless you're a hunter, multiple gun owners are creeps. They're compensating for something. There's something mentally unwell about a person who feels the need to own more than one gun.

HC, people might want to know if, for example, their next door neighbors, who are parents of a mentally unstable teenager with past troubling or disturbing behavior patters, own a gun or not.

I'm still mad at these douchebags for publishing the names, phone numbers, and addresses of people who own phones.

Are you seriously claiming that the state should be allowed to have secrets not accessible to the public ?

Uh, yes, obviously. Firstly, there's the classified information pertaining to national defense and security. Secondly, there's the private information of individuals that do business with the government. Third, there's information the government has on individuals that could potentially be harmful if public.

Oh won't somebody think of fringe cases!!!

Also, a roadmap of places to rob? Isn't that why people own guns in the first place?

MRT is a wonderful demonstration of the fact that many of the people who want to ban assault weapons and other guns are nothing more than culture warriors with a distaste for those who have different values. You're not actually interested in reducing crime, MRT, you just personally despise people who own guns because they are stereotypically aligned with a group of people who disagree with you. It's nothing more than pathetic, petty identity politics.

Anyone looking at the crime statistics will note the obvious: Gun control is not going to actually reduce crime. People like Diane Feinstein basically just hate people they consider to be rednecks.
