Your issue with him is that he's a politician?Originally posted by Donegeal View PostI don't care what he's done regarding the Republicans. I know him personally. He's an ass kisser.
However, I am curious if you could point me toward more recent polling of the race.I make no bones about my moral support for [terrorist] organizations. - chegitz guevara

No idea if there has been any polling. I only know what I see. There are alot more Zerban signs than Ryan signs.Originally posted by DinoDoc View PostHas there been any recent polling showing him behind in the race? Or is this wishful thinking?Founder of The Glory of War, CHAMPIONS OF APOLYTON!!!

If someone loses their job, and they bought insurance on the private market, they should be able to keep their insurance. Unfortunately the way things are now insurance is handled by the employer. This is one of the things Romney would change.Originally posted by gribbler View PostWhat happens if someone loses their job and their coverage with it? Wouldn't a condition that developed while they had that coverage be considered a "pre-existing condition" by future insurance companies?
Presumably, continuing costs of an illness would be covered by insurance even after you drop their policy? I'm a little less clear on how that would work.If there is no sound in space, how come you can hear the lasers?

No, my issue with him is I don't like him. I had always thought that if someone from my date ran for a big office, I'd vote for them simply for that reason. Now I have someone running from my actual city that I actually know, and I am still not voting for him.Originally posted by DinoDoc View PostYour issue with him is that he's a politician?

Granted this was from September, but the only poll I could find showed a double digit Ryan lead.Originally posted by Donegeal View PostNo idea if there has been any polling. I only know what I see. If someone loses their job at a time when the job market is bad they could struggle to keep paying for a private plan. Some people would probably miss a payment, get dropped and no longer be able to get coverage for what is now considered a pre-existing condition.Originally posted by Hauldren Collider View PostIf someone loses their job, and they bought insurance on the private market, they should be able to keep their insurance. Tell you what, I have to go buy Halloween candy in a few minutes. I'll drive through town instead of taking the interstate and count signs. Ryan ones on the way there, Zerban one on the way back.Founder of The Glory of War, CHAMPIONS OF APOLYTON!!!

I am astounded at the disdain some people have for patients who have "pre-existing conditions." They act and talk as if it were the patients' own fault. And, granted, in many cases that may be true.
But in many other cases, it is most definitely not. A patient of mine developed type one diabetes at the age of six months. He is going to have a pre-existing condition his entire life. I have another patient who, at the age of seven years, developed an extraordinarily rare form of bone cancer. Assuming she manages to survive the disease (and treatment), she too will always have a pre-existing condition. To say nothing of the legion of patients I see who have asthma, likely at least partially thanks to environmental pollution.

I have a pre-existing condition. Why is it that I have to pay full freight for everything, but other people get a free ride? I just want to be left alone. Let me pay for my stuff and not have to pay for your crap, and you pay for your crap and I'll take care of mine.I am astounded at the disdain some people have for patients who have "pre-existing conditions." Pay higher premiums that account for the risk or save money. No point complaining about how the world's not fair."You say that it is your custom to burn widows. Very well. We also have a custom: when men burn a woman alive, we tie a rope around their necks and we hang them. Build your funeral pyre; beside it, my carpenters will build a gallows. You may follow your custom. And then we will follow ours."--General Sir Charles James Napier
