Chik-fil-A is ****ing delicious so it's their loss. Also it's unconstitutional. But that's another matter.

You lost credibility in your first post in this thread.

That brings up another question. Would the mayor be opposed to Mosques in his city since they also share the opinion espoused by the Cathy family?

It's bigoted to not give your money to people who donate to anti-gay bigots? Really? That's a stupid thing to say.

It's bigoted against baptists to say that just because you don't agree with their position on gay marriage, you won't allow restaurants to open in your city that are owned by them. Even if those restaurants themselves, as an organization, have no stake in the matter.

                Intolerance of bigots isn't bigotry.

Being against gay marriage is not bigotry, and being religious is not bigotry. Making a ****ing chicken restaurant political over its owner's religion is bigotry.

Being against gay marriage is no more bigoted than being against abortion is sexist.

Being against gay marriage is bigoted. You're denying someone their rights, enjoyed by others, because of their sexual orientation.

There was a lengthy thread about this before. Gay men are allowed to marry gay women. Being opposed to gay marriage is a matter of not wanting to fundamentally redefine marriage. It's not an issue I personally care about, so I'm not defending this guy's stance in terms of policy, but you can be totally unbigoted and still have a principled stance against gay marriage.

That notwithstanding, what the mayor of Boston is doing is completely unconstitutional.

At first, I just thought what the owner of Chick-Fil-A said was, in a business sense, stupid and ill-considered. Just because everybody's a potential customer, gay and straight, liberal and conservative.

Now I wonder if he's some kind of freaking PR idiot-savant, because the name Chick-Fil-A has never been heard so often, by so many, in so short a time.

It seems they've just now found out that the owner of Chik-fil-A is a devout Christian.
You mean the 'closed on Sundays' part didn't tip them off?

I don't see what the problem is with a devout Christian business owner expressing his personal opinion, anymore than the local buddhist tea shop owner doing the same.

The purpose of a business is to sell stuff. Businesses discriminate all the time, "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone". No business is required to serve someone. If the tea shop owner doesn't want Christians to come into his business because they give him bad q - that's entirely his business.
