It's accommodating the desires for the secularists. Why should the desires for secularists for education that corresponds to their beliefs trump the desires for Catholics for the same thing?

Secularists just want to keep religion out of schools. They are not asking for any special treatment. They are not asking to shove any beliefs down anybody's throats.

They are just asking for a school environment that isn´t conducive for the bullying of students, for example because of their sexual orientation.
Teaching kids in public schools that non heterosexuals are sinners probably isn´t a good thing if you want to prevent, that kids with said sexual orientation get bullied by heterosexual kids who might think that they do a good work by bullying them (and perhaps driving them to suicide)

They want schools to teach things like math, english and science instead of wasting taxpayer dollars on teaching religious beliefs and bigotry. Calling that a demand for special treatment is silly. The people wanting special treatment are the people who want the government to fund the teaching of their particular religious beliefs while also not wanting government funding to be provided to other religious sects. If someone demanded that the government fund schools that teach that religion is a lie, that would be a request for special treatment.

And Catholics believe that religion is just as much a part of education as all of these three. Why should the secularist view prevail?

If they are wasting taxpayer dollars, why are they able to educate children with higher performance and lower costs? If it were true that teaching religious beliefs hampered education on other subjects, then we would see them perform more poorly.

Why should the secularist view prevail concerning the division of scarce education dollars? It's the Catholic schools that are performing better with fewer dollars spent per student.

If one were to compare the bullying levels of the Catholic school with the secular school, would we come to the conclusion that there is less bullying overall or more bullying? I haven't seen any of the proponents of the plan show that this is actually the case.

So basically, bullying because you are short, or handicapped - ok. Bullying someone because they are gay is not. Ergo, some animals are more equal than other animals, and recieve special treatment.

Couple things here. You're assuming that suicide rates are lower in the secular schools. If I were to show you the opposite, would you concede that the separate schools are doing a better job?

I disagree that teaching kids that some activities are wrong will lead to suicide. Telling them that they have no hope - does. If a child isn't happy, do you think it's more helpful to teach them that they can be overcome, or to teach them that they cannot ever hope to change?
