Well, how did Mrs. Flubber feel when she was off the pill? I guess that's my question. I've heard that the sex is better, but like I said earlier, I only have the experience of friends who have stated that. I'm not necessarily (or even care all that much) about the guy part of it. More interested in what it's like for the ladies.

Err-- He made no assertions really. You asked if being gay is genetic and Asher responded with a link with most recent state of the science which seems to be that they aren't sure yet but they think they may be genetic elements.

There are very many things yet unknown about genetics so this response does not surprise me at all

The studies seem to have difficulties establishing an empirical definition of homosexuality. Without that, you really can't do any empirical studies. Then you have the whole issue as to whether it's just one 'thing', or if it's different for different people. It's not enough even to show that there is a statistical difference, as you have to be able to show that this behaviour is provoked by this set of things.

Whereas, with my hearing, we were participants in a study. They took genetic samples from me, my brother, my mother and my father, and my grandmother and grandfather to narrow down the possibilities. Then, when all this research has started coming out, they've found that other mutation with people apparently unrelated. He sent me a study about 4 years ago, saying that he wanted to use the research that he had on us from way back when and wanted our permission again to use it.

So I'm thrilled, that they know the gene involved, that opens up possibilities for gene therapy.

Compare that with Asher's argument? It's not even in the same ballpark. That's what is bothering me.

As they are permitted to attend public schools that are secular, there's no warrant for this. They cannot force Catholic schools to teach things that are contrary to what the religion believes, per section 13 of the Charter (and 3), which protect their freedom of religion.

And my wife always said the only difference was that she didn't have to worry about getting pregnant which made the experience a bit better.
And I have a hard time believing that devote Christian women would even talk to you about how sex feels for them. Or that you'd ask. If someone came up and asked my wife about it, I'd smack him. And If you sat around with all the girls while they discussed sex, I'd say you were gay.

Like I said before, if you ignore the creepiness of his even asking such a question, there is something of a point to it. Sort of. Almost. Since the pill effectively tricks a woman's body into thinking it's already pregnant, it makes sense that she wouldn't be quite as, uh, affectionate as she would when off it. The hormones aren't at their peak. Likewise the condom deadens sensation, and I imagine most other forms of contraceptives have their downsides in the fun department. Now, does that mean ha-ha, using contraceptives of any kind is stupid? No, it's an entirely reasonable trade-off.

Of course even then there would still be vasectomy as a form of contraception which shouldn´t alter a womans feelings during sex.

Yeah, the only downside to vasectomies is that I hear they're very unpleasant. But I also read somewhere that somebody's working on an alternative, where they line the vas deferens with some kind of spermicide. Supposedly it lasts for ten years and is actually 100% effective in preliminary trials.

Didn't ask, they brought it up and asked me what I thought about these issues, (me being Catholic) and they not being Catholic.

They have very serious side effects, and yes for many women it is a concern that really isn't getting addressed these days. Hormonal contraception isn't a wonder drug - you are putting some very strong drugs in your body longterm.
