Give women the tools to protect themselves and encourage them to use it, and then they don't get raped! It's all about preventation.
So no women would ever get raped again. God, are you dense.
And a dumb way to avoid answering the question.

xpost-I believe he has posted even dumber things. There are so many classics to choose from. (but this one is right up there)

This may be the dumbest thing ever posted, not only in the history of the Poly OT, but in the history of the internet.
So you don't believe that a woman carrying a pistol is a deterrent to rape? If you know that the lady you are thinking about raping might kill you, won't that put a damper on the attempt.

I don't know whether to applaud or slit my wrists.
The question assumes that women are helpless and cannot protect themselves. I argue that there are plenty of ways to protect oneself (especially within one's home.

He's talking about someone breaking into your home, and raping your wife. Seriously, if there's a better way to commit suicide than breaking into a random home here in Texas, I don't know what would be the case. There have been numerous reports of 'home invader, shot, killed'. It's not even news anymore. You break into someone's house here - you are putting your life at risk.

If he means someone mugging her on the street - well that's different. Yes you can prepare yourself, but it's possible that someone sneaks up behind you and mugs you. I've seen it happen. But, it does help to prepare yourself, because in case you do see them before you can protect yourself.

That's completely ignoring the fact that the vast majority of rapes are committed by people well-known to the victim, you stupid mother****er.

Goddamn it. The question onadera asked was about a black stranger breaking in and trying to rape my wife.

Yes, most rape comes from folks that the victim trusts. That's why they don't end up dead. So, mr. Doctor, what proactive steps would you take to teach your children (and girl children especially), to protect them?

Oddly enough women still get raped in Texas and every other state where gun ownership is allowed (which would be all 50 states).

The church has all the evidence and came to the conclusion that she could have carried successfully and without significant risk to her.
So, Abortion (in the view of the catholic church) is wrong, because it kills people (and therefore a good reason for an excommunication).
So, I assume the catholic church excommunicates people who kill innocent people who are out of the womb, as well (with other words, people who commit a murder on innocent persons)?

You are arguing from silence, as usual.
Based on the article (and all other articles I could find on the internet regarding the case) the mother was excommunicated, while the father was not. Therefore I argue based on the information given from articles regarding the case (to which I haven´t found any informations, that state the contrary)

So obviously, the church regards the crime of the mother (deciding pro an abortion on behalf of her daughter) as worthy of an excommunication, while the repeated rape of the daughter (and her sister) by the father wasn´t enough to excommunicate him (as else it would have either exommunicated both, or neither of them).

Not in Benland apparently. If you're sitting at home with a gun and have been taught to be prepared, it's impossible to be raped.

In Benland women are supposed to be at home taking care of their ten children so it looks like they have adequate protection.

Sure, if they go about and say that what they did was righteous. If you sin and admit that what you did was wrong, you'll be forgiven. This is why the people who perform abortion get excommunicated, because they invariably say that they did the noble thing and that killing children in the womb isn't wrong. Sometimes, you get the rare case of a honest one like Dr. Nathanson who does confess the enormity of what he's done. If the mother here were to go to her priest, and confess her sins, she'd be a Catholic in good standing.

Based on the article the mother (and all other articles you can find on the internet regarding the case) the mother was excommunicated, while the father was not.
The father in the article (not the one who is accused of raping her, btw) was not excommunicated because he changed his mind on the abortion, and tried to save the life of her twins.

You're assuming the father in the article is the same as the one who raped her. They are two different people. Again, the article is terrible at reporting the actual facts of the case...

I mentioned her baking a pie - not taking care of our 10 children. Nice try, though. If you're going to make fun of me, at least get it right.

Reminds me of the passus within the bible,
where married women who are raped within a city have to be stoned, together with their rapists,
as obviously, in the opinion of the writer of these passages, every women within a city has the chance to either successfully defend herself,
or at least to cry for help (and, after doing so, get help immediately),
and a women who gets successfully raped within a city, therefore must have been voluntarily engaged into sexual intercourse with her rapist
