The article says she was 4 months along, that's about 16 weeks. The fetuses would not have been viable. We don't know what the pain was coming from, possibly because her uterus was too small to support them and she was losing them anyway.

Well, then, shouldn't the doctor have said so if it was so? 'Unspecified pain' isn't evidence for anything. That's the point of having the doctor there - to treat the pain properly.

A girl that age is quite different from a 13 or 14 year old in size and development, enough so that it is ridiculous to combine the two age groups together. If you want appropriate data you're going to have to find someone who studied survival rates in the younger age range separately.

The father had the exact same evidence in front of him, and changed his mind. So it's clearly not as cut and dried as this. Yes - abortion is wrong because it kills a person (in this case two people). The church has all the evidence and came to the conclusion that she could have carried successfully and without significant risk to her.
