I can say, unequivocally from personal experience, that this may be true but so is the correlation to race.

I was born in 1970 and my 17 year old thinks that certain opinions I have are racist. I do recognize that he's probably right for his time because my actions/ideals are based on my experiences. For my time, I'm not racist at all. So I don't blame older people for their racism. I forgive it because I understand they are a product of their times.

This is definitely true, I should have expanded my statements to include this (and I started doing so, then decided not to).

There are many things that have been said (or that I have read about) coming from a person who is over 50 years old that I am 'fine' with, but that I would consider being very 'racist' coming from a 20-yearold.

Like I will defend Tolkien as not being racist... for his age. But if someone who was ~20 espoused the same ideas/etc that he did, I would call him (rightfully) a racist.

Additionally, due to the level of abuse/etc that african-americans endured pre1980 (maybe pre1990), some level of racism from older african-americans is natural. I didn't understand this until I attended an african-american church in the south for a couple years.

I think Oerdin was asserting that the cultural background of Chinese people is advantageous when making Chinese food. If he was claiming some sort of innate superiority in that field then I apologize.
