I'm vaguely curious how the Egyptians and/or Atlanteans constructed the light out of the big burning fire stuff. If being exposed to it turns non-Desmonds into smoke monsters, how did they build all the stuff in that cave?

Of course it was. They wrote themselves into a corner with all of their mysteries and then introduced a new character (Christian, who we had seen vetoer but never in this sort of context) who gave an ineffable explanation and made it so they no longer had to explain anything.

Kind of, yeah. I loved the finale, but Season Six was easily the worst season. They really didn't have enough story left or many good answers to reveal.
