So, the Sideways World turned out to be a waste of time (as suspected), yet the finale (especially the half that took place in the Sideways World) was completely awesome. I think it's appropriate that Lost ends in a paradox like that.

Of course not. They live out the rest of their lives in some fashion, just like Hurley and Ben (and Rose and Bernard) on the Island. I assume Desmond leaves to be with Penny and Charlie, as there's no way Hurley wouldn't let him.KH FOR OWNER!

It's kind of disappointing that Real Desmond totally misunderstood his revelation.
When you think about it, real Desmond's awareness doesn't make much sense. How did he gain the awareness possessed by his soul in the Sideways world? The souls in the Sideways world remembering their time on the Island makes sense, but it doesn't make sense the other way around.KH FOR OWNER!

I'm vaguely curious how the Egyptians and/or Atlanteans constructed the light out of the big burning fire stuff. If being exposed to it turns non-Desmonds into smoke monsters, how did they build all the stuff in that cave?Comment
