I understand condoms are not conducive to much of African culture, but that does not exonerate the Church. The Church is reinforcing that mentality and it gets people killed. And what increased risk? You just said Africans dont want condoms while claiming condoms dont reduce STDs - they wont if they aint being used. The introduction of condoms did not create promiscuity or adultery.

You've just made Ben's point, your example reduces population to argue that innovation would decrease as population decreases. It would reduce the rate of innovation, but one reason for higher birthrates is higher infant mortality rates. As people have more babies that survive the need for more babies declines. Population density is extremely important to rates of innovation, ideas spread faster and more people have access to the new upon which to build.

No, but it's conducive to such. Look at the west now. Do you think STDs are rarer or more common here than they were 50 years ago? Shouldn't we expect if condoms are useful that STDs would go down? Instead they've gone up.
