  • Pro-Life Means Protect the Earth

The Christian Right is starting to get it. They've been following the blind for a long time, but now they're starting to realize that they have to use their brains to praise God as well as their hearts.

Environmentalism is about saving life, not just the earth.

      So animals > people?

      Sorry, doesn't work that way.

        People are animals too.

Additionally, we should be good stewards. Raping the planet does not good stewards make.

It says we have dominion over the plants and animals. I agree that stewardship is important, but that Man is far more important than animals, and that this biblical viewpoint is consistantly held in scripture.

Not protecting the earth kills people too.

              You're right.

How many people have died from malaria since DDT has been invented?

How many times have we seen population control as a 'fruit' of the environmental movement. I think their beliefs are perfectly summed up in that Humanity is a virus because they alter the environment to suit themselves.

How many people have died from things which are related to pollution/etc?

Note that a lot of cancer is probably caused by our toxic environment. A lot of asthma too.

So you don't deny that population control is an essential part of the environmental movement?

I do. It is true that misanthropes like the environmental movement. The same with those who pollute the earth.

Most of your points are ridiculous and not worth responding to Ben.

Humanity is more like a tumor than a virus -- it grows at the expense of its host until it oustrips its resources, ultimately causing the demise of itself and its host.

edit: now before you say that this is exactly what a virus does, please remember that the most successful viruses keep their host alive as long as possible to maximize potential for transmission (HIV, hepatitis, herpes, etc).

                        And ?
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Maybe, but what if they act like those pesky grashoppers in the egyptian plagues ? What fun are there in a world stripped of food and resources ?

Edit: to be honest, I would have preferred that BK explained why humans should fornicate themself to destruction as he advocates.

Yeah, from purely an environmental POV we should be ridding this world of this plague of Christians...
