You need a certain IQ to make a great contribution to science, I would say in physics at least 160 in other fields as low as ~130 may do and those two guesstimates will only rise in the future as the fruit left to be picked gets higher and higher. The heritability of IQ is 0.8 which is quite impressive even when you consider regression towards the mean. And even if only people with low to average IQs where to benefit from a higher TFR there would still be a greater absolute number of high IQ individuals.Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

I'm all for shipping condoms there, but the fact is that the best result possible would be a really hardcore anti fornication RCC with condoms discretly available for those who won't listen to the church anyway. Also use your brains, if the anti-condom policy was costing more lives among belivers that it creates the pope would be quick to say condoms are ok since he dosen't want fewer belivers.Last edited by Heraclitus; January 29, 2010, 10:28.Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”

Not sure what modern relativism means but I doubt it led to voodoo
Has the Church seen great success at reducing promiscuity in Africa? You're right that religion matters, ie Islam is very anti-sex outside of their patriarchal/sexual slavery BS and it does result in a lower AIDs rate, but at the cost of other nasty pathologies. But if the Church is pissing in the wind trying to change that aspect of culture then telling people condoms are the devilis getting people killed. People need accurate information, the Church has other priorities.

Listen, you horrible excuse for a human being, David, by using protection every time, has over a 90% at NOT contracting an STD. And don't pull your what about if he waited until marriage bull**** because that's irrelevant. What an evil person you are... no wonder the Church is losing members. People run into judgmental creeps like yourself there.
But seriously, you are either ****ing trolling us, or your thought process is seriously defective.Follow me on Twitter: http://twitter.com/DaveDaDouche

BK has to defend his arguments to the hilt, because to do otherwise would be an admission that his life choices so far are a total and utter waste of time. No one wants to admit their entire life's values are based on a house of cards - he is in a state of total denial.
Hence he becomes ever strident in his defences, ever more desperate as it's apparent that he's the only person on poly that has these twisted backward beliefs, that he has to 'win' the argument in his own mind by outlasting the patience of all his opponents...
I actually pity the guy that he calls this forum 'home' and yet all the other posters reject him utterly.

Yeah, that's math.
As for judgmental creeps, all I'm saying is look, you can be lucky or right. I prefer to be right and not rely on luck to avoid an STD.
And waiting for marriage is entirely relevant. That's the whole point of the comparison. Just because you'd rather be lucky than right, doesn't mean that your strategy is risk free. People are always criticised for being the downer and warning people that they are taking on too much risk. Well whatever.Scouse Git (2) La Fayette Adam Smith Solomwi and Loinburger will not be forgotten.

Yeah, that's math. With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
