Bush invaded the wrong country to protect us from those that attacked us, and wore out a whole generation of troops and equipment fixing the country he broke with that. Now the next guy has to go back and get the people who actually attacked us, on Bush's watch I might add. He didn't keep us safe from terrorism, he destroyed both the fiscal and economic systems he received, and he authorized illegal behavior in the form of torture, an act that ruined our reputation and our pride. He permitted moral zealotry to so intimidate the country that we all pulled together to overcome it. He was a bad leader and a bad President and he isn't going to spin his way out of it.

Note: He wasn't "crowned," he was elected by people who trusted him and now feel betrayed. Also Obama did not defeat him directly in an election so the Reagan and Eisenhower comparisons are inapt.

1.) He wasn't elected, he was selected by 5 Supreme Court justices.
2.) Rufus' Eisenhower and Reagan allusions were towards McCain, not Bush.

No, that would make Ben gay.

So he had the "courage" to live unsustainably on borrowed credit, but not the courage to actually balance the budget?
As opposed to raising taxes, increasing spending AND living unsustainably?

And you say that is the mark of a great president because it will force a later president (one who actually understands that living on borrowed credit is not sustainable) to cut spending later when the debt becomes unmanageable?
No, it's the mark of a great leader that he believes the people should make the decisions as to how money is spent, not the government. Yes, he failed to cut spending, but that doesn't mean he made the wrong decision about cutting taxes. Would you rather he raised taxes and spent even more?

Wait, what? Bush took the high road?
            Yes he did.

            With the torture at Guantanamo,
Which began before him and will continue after him unabated.

the culture of nepotism and cronyism that led to Katrina,
Yes, with the weather machine that made him direct the hurricane towards "Chocolate town". Let's not place any of the blame on the local authorities who through their decisions made the situation much worse. There have been plenty of hurricanes before and since, but Katrina had a different outcome then most? Maybe that has something to do with New Orleans rather then Bush.

the culture of death and humiliation that led to Abu Ghraib
Which will continue before and after him unabated.

and the early misadventures in Iraq
            Early because he won.

and the current tragedy in Afghanistan?
Ran out of time on the clock. What makes you think it's going to end just because Bush is out?

With the systematic rape and violation of the very ideals of the United States with warrantless wiretapping, constant redefinitions of legality, and support for declarations of who are people granted full rights (vegetables) and who aren't (fags)?
Wow, so you believe everyone was once a vegetable and later became a person?

And then to cavalierly state, "Bring it on," to have his hatchetmen go out and smear anyone who dared to raise an objection as Anti-American, traitorous, and the like? To say, "So what," when questioned about errors made?
There are 10 thousand threads about his errors. This is one saying thanks.

If you don't like Bush, then start your own thread. I'm sure people will be blaming Bush for everything bad that happens thirty years from now.

Moral zealotry = Believes in God.

Wore out a whole generation of troops = highest recruitment levels in a generation.

Destroyed the fiscal and economic system = longest sustained boom since the 50s.

ruined our reputation and pride = help up America's respect.

                Who's the spinner here?

Bush could resurrect the dead, and people would call it necromancy.

Note: He wasn't "crowned," he was elected by people who trusted him and now feel betrayed. Also Obama did not defeat him directly in an election so the Reagan and Eisenhower comparisons are inapt.
Ignoring the fact that his vote total went up after 4 years, unlike Eisenhower.

                  Duh, you.

Anyway, you can't praise Bush for his belief in God. He's not a Catholic (unless you're finally admitting that you're not one either). He believes in an entirely different god.

Ah, there was no prison camp at Guantanomo Bay before 9/11, which happend on Bush's watch. So no, there was no torture at guantanamo before Bush, and there won't be any afterwards, because the prison camp there will be shut down.

I'd suggest FDR had a potentially worse situation, especially when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbour, which is the closest that the US has come to an invasion since the War of Independence. I'd also suggest that he did better than Bush has done.

I'm afraid that you'll have to, since protestants don't believe in God, the only believe in the bible. This I'd like to see (and then laugh at).
