I'd also say that her liberty is impacted. They don't have the right to commit assault just because they don't like what she has to say.

(If I had been in California, I would have not voted on prop 8, being against the substance on restricting marriage, but also being against the process and that brought it there). If gay marriage proponents had used patient political and social processes to advance their cause, they would not have seen most of these marriage amendments and they would be approaching their goals in some states. By the bull**** back door changes to the constituions, they had set their causes back a generation. Patience is hard when you are being denied, particularly for couples who do not have have years to wait, but winning beats losing.

The idea of Protected Classes being race, creed, national origin, etc, comes from the "Civil Rights Act of 1964". Btw, sex is also considered a protected class under it.

So gay people are discriminated against because of their sex? I find that hard to believe, since they are both men and women.

You have never been to a political rally. People with opposing viewpoints in the rally get their signs smacked down all the time. If you want to file assault charges every time that happens you aren't going to have enough room in the jails.

Plus she has property rights. You can't just go around destroying her property. Plus I would imagine a case could be made against here right to freedom of religion, since I don't think it is considered OK to take people's religious symbols out of their hands by force and destroy them. Could this also be considered a hate crime since they weren't after the victim herself but what she represented.

This has to be about the only time in my life I can ever remember someone attempting to defend/minimize a group of over 100 men assaulting a little old lady on national TV.

No, you massive idiot, the 14th Amendment doesn't have any limitations on protected classes. "Protected Class" is all by subsequent plain ole law.

Why are you evading the assault? She was assaulted there and yes, she could sue the folks who assaulted her. I know if I had done that same thing there I would have been expelled from school, and probably arrested.

Heck, I can be arrested just by being on the wrong side of the street. There is a double standard here, and I'm rather disgusted that you are a champion of that double standard. The fact that it was at a political rally does not excuse their behaviour.

She was an idiot for walking in the middle of it. Everyone who has been at a counter-protest knows that you DO NOT go into the middle of their protest.

This puts the fun in MrFun. The funny thing is that the extreme left (the Mrs and MrFunians of America) put millions into their man, MrObama. They made a nationwide effort to get out the vote, and it worked. The problem? Well the black minority branch of the extreme left are what MrFun might term 'bigoted' for some reason I can't figure. They woke a sleeping giant of conservative values. It was the old stab in the backaroo, leftist minority style.

I suggest that the gays and lesbians should...

1) never assume. Getting out the vote is great only if they vote for **** you like.
