Well, it's your loss, America. You've elected the weakest candidate since Jimmy Carter. Your country and the world will change all right. It will be a lot easier for those forces worldwide who violently oppose the U.S. power position to have their say.
History was made tonight. The disassembling of the known power structures will commence. You won't like the end result.
I can't feel anything but sorrow for McCain. I think you've let down an incredible person for a bag of peanuts and a rather hollow promise for change.
Many people have put a lot of hope in a new, very inexperienced candidate, who knew to well how to market himself to the general public.
I only hope he doesn't fail your country. If someone can come from nowhere and sweep a huge nation off its feet, he must have something good to offer. So good luck Obama.
I'm also amazed, a second time, by your odd electoral system.
Elections are decided in 4 large states. This is while the popular vote has Obama leading by mere 51% vs. 48% for McCain. By this vote, it's nothing near land-slide, and McCain could have had a fighting chance.
But then again, we've seen how the popular vote helped Al Gore.
I think you should review your political system, at least in that sense.
