I think this is amazing really. It's a very risky move and conservatives aren't generally risky people. I think it's not going to end well for McCain though.

Why? I mean surley the female VP appeals to at least a few of the feminist votes Hillary got.
Sure she's anti-abortion but she's a woman, contrast this to Obama's boirng white male VP it should win him votes.
Modern man calls walking more quickly in the same direction down the same road “change.”
The world, in the last three hundred years, has not changed except in that sense.

Bonus points for Palin :
quote:
The volatile issue of teaching creation science in public schools popped up in the Alaska governor's race this week when Republican Sarah Palin said she thinks creationism should be taught alongside evolution in the state's public classrooms. Palin was answering a question from the moderator near the conclusion of Wednesday night's televised debate on KAKM Channel 7 when she said, "Teach both. You know, don't be afraid of information.

Well, I've been thinking about this pick. I don't like it. It's about 4 years too early for her and the likes of Bobby Jindal. Can these folks get re-elected? Do they have what it takes to weather a period of relative unpopularity? Pawlenty has done so, as just one example.
That said, neither Obama nor Biden have any true political accomplishments that I can think of. McCain's aren't impressive either -- noteworthy for all the wrong reasons. That's the problem with senators. They are only 1 out of 100. They get a lot of publicity, but they have no occasion to accomplish anything. That's why they "invented the internet." I'm sad that a senator is the best that the GOP can offer.
Palin's accomplishments are modest, but are at least more than McCain's, Obama's, and Biden's.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

But she later clarified saying creation shouldn't be part of the curriculum
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio
