He's not the only one to see it. Take a look at Krugman's latest opinion piece on the NYTimes: "Hate Springs Eternal".
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
Let's be clear, though. Since Edwards dropped out, Krugman has been very much in the Clinton camp, and wouldn't be what I would call an objective analyst. And he is somewhat right. There are a bunch of Obama supporters out there who think Obama's really great, and Clinton is really really not great. But the fact is, Clinton has inspired the same sentiments.
Really, you can't judge a candidate by a subset of their supporters. If you could, you could make an issue of the NY NOW director who considers it every woman's duty to the Cause to vote for Clinton. You could talk about a person like Jerome Armstrong, who is one of the founders of the liberal blogosphere, but who recently proposed an argument that Clinton can beat McCain in Arizona, and that is why we should support her (electability). And you could make an issue out of Clinton's top strategist, Mark Penn, who makes money busting unions and allowing his corporate clients to be completely unaccountable. But, the thing is, you can't judge a candidate based on his/her supporters.

I generally really like Krugman, but that piece was ridiculous; everything he said about Obama supporter vilifying Clinton could have been said about Clinton supporters vilifying Obama, as anyone who's spent 5 minutes on the internet knows. Much more intteresting was Frank Rich's recent piece abot the troubling lengths the Clintons will g to to win. (And mind you, I say all this while still leaning toward Clinton.)

I should theoretically be a big Obama supporter, I fit most of his contituency (male, higher income brackets, college educated) and he was my state senator, I have his autographed book, and I like him, but its his general supporters and his campaign that drive me nuts. Rachel Meadows is right when she points out similarities betwen Obama and Bush when it comes to campaigning. Obama supporters act as if he were the second coming, and are horribly self-righteous, as if supporting Obama made them better....
QFMFT. I'm starting to think Obama fans' **** don't stink.

This is where I think that David Brooks piece I posted earlier was spot-on: the comparison between (some) people voting for Obama and (some) people who shop at The Body Shop or Whole Foods. People who derive a sense of their moral superiority from their consumer choices.
But they're a subset (they certainly don't include my mother or my father-in-law, both K-mart shoppers and both voting Obama because they just don't trust the Clintons -- a perfectly reasonable position). And they're certainly no worse than the subset of Hillary voters who are supporting her just because she's a woman, or the subset of McCain supporters who will support him in the fall because they would never vote for any woman or any black man, ever.
What are you gonna do? It's coalition politic, and some folks in the coaltition are asses. Twas ever thus.

I think people are just generally unprepared to see a candidate that people are actually excited about, given the lackluster field of politicians we've had (especially Democrats) for the last 8 years. Supporters can often be dumb; Obama has no monopoly on that.

I have and aunt who runs the body shop here and an uncle who runs a treeplanting business. It's such a scam, and there are so many gullible people out there.
They usually have a nice big truck for their troubles, so remember that when you are being "green" chances are you are lining someone else's pocket who's laughing all the way to the bank.

Why a scam?? Are there other treeplanting businesses in competition? Isn't the competition holding prices down? It's the American way!

What is the Body Shop, and why is it a scam?
I'm guessing because you go in to fix a broken tail light and leave bleeding from every orifice on five extra repairs you just can't do without. Con artists

1. Their market niche is to make companies like Canfor look good. So they can charge more money, because then Canfor can go and say, hey, we are being environmentally conscious.
2. As for the bodyshop, let's just say their markups are exceptional.
That's why I always laugh when a girl tells me that the body shop is one of the greenest stores here, I don't have the heart to tell her that the owner is in my family.

QOTM is very disgruntled at the absense of Clinton signs. Mainly you see Obama signs, and Ron Paul signs. I pointed out thats more an indication of extent of organization and how they use it than support. Though the polls show Obama strongly ahead here.
QOTM wanted the whole family to go to a rally with Bill Clinton at GMU, but it doesnt start till 9, and it conflicts with TJ winter guard practive for POTM, and I dont want to stay out so late on a work night. QOTM was gonna go herself, but is tired and seems to have bailed.
We will vote tomorrow, its not looking pretty from my POV.
