It's amusing that all these white people in the media are saying that Latinos are bigoted against black people... The difference is familiarity, outreach, and class, not racial antagonism (look at the spread in IL, for instance - or compare CA with NM).

Yeah, I was shocked that Obama won NM. Did Richardson (either covertly or overtly) endorse Obama??

Actually NM is still being counted and Clinton is ahead with 98% of the vote.

That state takes forever to be counted... I remember in, hmm, I think 2000, when it was possible it could determine the election (or, help determine it), it took forever to get in, and by the time it got in, I think Hawaii was already in... like 6 hours behind NM ...

It's so scattered and rural, and on top of that you have the reservations, which as far as I know are permitted to vote in the election... it's crazy.

Either way, Obama and Clinton each get 13 delegates (plus SDs); that shocked me, I thought Clinton would win at least 60-40.

A lot of Latinos in CA are bigoted actually.

I know them in Arizona and yes many are, surveys back this up as too. The thing is that the most Bigoted are the least likely to be voting so how much of a factor it is will be very hard to determine until a general election with Obama, if then. McCain has the greatest potential to win Hispanic voters amongst the Republican field we will have to see if theirs the old Bradly effect. Securing Hispanic voters would be the #1 asset that Hillary would bring to an Obama ticket.

What a mess this race is.

The Democrats have a woman and an African-American.
The Republicans have an older candidate, a Mormon and a musician.

In order to satisfy everybody, we'd have to have an older black female Mormon musician, and that leaves us with...

                  Gladys Knight!

                  Seriously though...

                    Republicans don't have a Mormon anymore .

And Hillary joins the Supremes. That'd be awesome.

At this point, whoever wins NM doesn't matter. A) It is too late for CNN to really add it to their February 5th coverage. B, and more importantly) the delegates will be split evenly no matter who wins at this point.

In L.A., it was reported that the race was so close that, in the districts which had an even number of delegates, the delegates were split between Clinton and Obama, and in the districts which had an odd number of delegates, the extra delegate was given to the winner of that district. --Now, that's a close election!

It's really fascinating to hear members of one minority group speak out against some bigotry and then turn around and whole-heartedly support bigotry against another minority group.

(homophobic, bigoted Mormons complaining about anti-Mormon bigotry)
A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
