  • He was tasered once, not three times.

His behavior was not threatening. It was obnoxious. The campus police shouldn't have even been involved. Once they approached the man, he became understandably agitated.
His behavior was inappropriate and the officials had every right to ask him to leave. It was a private forum with expectations of decency. Asking rambling, long questions to Kerry that reference blowjobs is grounds to be removed from the function.

And no, resisting police action by fighting them is not understandable. It is illegal and called "resisting arrest." If there's no way to contain the guy without injuring him or an officer, then the taser can be used.

      • Here's another video that shows what happened after they took him out of the hall.

Clearly he's not exactly subdued by the torture.

Bull****. They told him not to rant and he kept ranting. They got their panties in a bunch, clearly.

Could it be more obvious that he was already contained when he was tasered?!

            • That video is by far the best. The guy is clearly either derranged or joking...

"There are people who know I'm here, you just can't kill me."

"They're giving me to the government. OMG they're giving me to the government."

"Ask them where I am, cause they're going to try to kill me."

              • He's not deranged, he is just trying to get noticed. That's why he had the girl videotape this, and that's why he has a site dedicated to all his pranks.

He was still moving around and they couldn't get him in cuffs and walking out of the auditorium voluntarily.

They didn't taser him until he resisted (for quite some time), was warned that if he didn't stop resisting he would be tasered, and then he continued to resist. Clearly he was tasered for resisting.

The cops started to escort him out because he was ranting it seems. But escorting someone out is not tasering them. (If they just wanted to taser him, they could have waited till there weren't so many cameras around don't you think?)

Is there any reason we should take a nut like this seriously?

Edit: bah, Aeson beat me to it.
                    Unbelievable!

                    • Technically the 2nd statement is true. He was handed off to the state and out of university police custody.

They didn't taser him when he was asking Kerry questions because they weren't pissed off enough yet. These things happen after anger builds up. That's why the fact that he wouldn't shut up lead to him being tasered.

                        • The kid might be insane for all we know. I don't see how that matters. Anyone think people should be tasered for being insane?

                          • The resisting was the reason he was tasered. He wasn't shutting up after he was tasered, yet they didn't taser him again. That shows very clearly it wasn't what he was saying that got him tasered.

It matters because it's funny what he's saying.

Of course not. (They have far more advanced electrical methods for treating insane people. ECT > Taser.)

Sure, that's part of it. That's no reason to taser someone though.

It doesn't at all. But I'm not claiming that he got tasered for what he said. I'm saying that he got tasered for not following the police orders. And that's a crime, but no reason to get tasered.
