Another police officer, I believe the chief, said that the only reason to taser someone is in the situation where the police are at risk of injury.

They tasered him to get him out of there. That has nothing to do with punishment. It has everything to do with him not complying and needing to be taken out.

I'm all for paying the police more than they currently receive, but being a police officer is to enter a risky profession. That is why it should be well paid. The safety of the police should always come second to the safety of the public, even the safety of those being arrested. Similarly, it is the job of firefighters to take risks to protect the public. That's what they are paid for.

If you can't see why this should be the case, then you shouldn't be a cop.

Tasering is not suppose to be used to get someone to do something. That is punishment, and toture. Tasering is only suppose to be used to avoid injury to the officers involved.

And they could have easily removed him without tazering him. That is assuming of course that they are worth a ****.

I didn't say they were doing it to get him to do something, it was to restrain him.
