Nothing funny about being tasered. Definitely tinfoil hat stuff afterwards was though. (Given the police reports as to what happened off-camera, I'd bet the guy himself thinks it was a good joke as well.)
Yes, when they all were up above the last seats he tried to break free and run back to the auditorium, that´s what eaned him his electroshocks.
Could it have been solved without tasering? Surely.
But the guy did clearly provoke a situation where it was likely that the cops didn´t see any other way to keep him from resisting (and trying to run back).
Therefore I canot blame the police for doing what they did.

Sure, that's part of it. That's no reason to taser someone though.
It doesn't at all. But I'm not claiming that he got tasered for what he said. I'm saying that he got tasered for not following the police orders. And that's a crime, but no reason to get tasered.
So you agree he was tasered for resisting, not for the questions he asked Kerry. Thanks for agreeing with me.
Is being electroshocked into submission "cruel and unusual"?
"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. But they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love. They had 500 years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

The other claim is that it had nothing to do with him being "obnoxious" that's the only place that I expressed my disagreement. He was charged with inciting a riot. Think the cops were a little pissed about what questions he was asking, and how he was asking them?

"Meyer spent a night in jail on charges of disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. "
The only person I heard mentioning "inciting a riot" is the kid when he was flailing around. I guess it is possible an officer accused him of that, but then again officers are not required to know the exact name of the charge ("disturbing the peace" and "inciting a riot" are only different in that the latter actually results in a riot) . The details are up to prosecutors, who file the charges.
Think the cops were a little pissed about what questions he was asking, and how he was asking them?
Of course, he was asking questions inappropriately and insulted officers publically, so he was asked to leave and then resisted. I think you are just trying to be argumentative.

Aeson is the one who said him getting tasered had nothing to do with that, why are you conversing with me about it?

Read the post I was responding to. The "obnoxious" was dealing with the question/rant to Kerry. (Likened it to filibustering.) Here's the relevent portion of the post:
"I would love to see exactly how many people think that electroshcoking a person is acceptable for those who are obnoxiously stretching the rules, but are otherwise within the acceptable behavior limits in a free society. In essence, he was filibustering."

If by "how he was asking them" you mean physically resisting being escorted out... sure.
Look at the cops' faces while the guy is ranting on the mic. They are rather calm, even after his repeated dismissal of their requests for him to cease.
It's really not until he breaks away near the door, and they take him down, that it would start to qualify as pissy. It wasn't what he was saying that lead to that. It was what he physically did. (The video you posted makes that rather clear, as he stopped physically resisting, but kept up the vocal behavior, yet there were no taserings while he was not physically resisting.)
Kid, he didn't really ask questions, it was mostly rants. And it was three instead of one like people were supposed to ask. This was a former presidential candidate and many people wanted to be there to learn some things and ask their own questions. It is unfair for the audience if the bro is allowed to take up their time like that. He went way outside the parameters of the format. Security had every right to remove him. It was not some political meeting, it was an academic function. People should be able to learn.
Furthermore, just focusing on injury to the police when tasered ignored what I said earlier. It is largely about preventing injury to him too. It is very easy to injure someone when multiple people have their hands on the subject. People can pull different ways and an arm can easily get dislocated, if not broken. A shock from a taser is definitely not wore than a dislocated shoulder.

The point is that he was being defiant. He intended to be defiant from the start. He started off defiant, and the police got pissed off so they tasered him. The fact that he was obnoxious to the police is part of that. Right?
