Why be pressured to stay in a relationship that is doomed to failure just because you feel guilty about her horrific emotional experience?

If she needs to resolve this issue through emotional intimacy with a partner, it's best to be with someone who can provide her that support... not someone who can't.

But then again, this is just all about Wiglaf being an *******, right?

It's not that he thinks he should stop seeing her that is the problem with most of us, I think.

It's the cavalier attitude about what she told him that bothers people.

He is what he is. Regardless of what people think of his attitudes towards rape or whatever, judging him isn't going to change the situation. The question at hand is whether or not he should stay with this girl. If he cannot find a way to be the kind of person his partner needs him to be, then he shouldn't stay with her. Period.

Everything else is irrelevant. I don't see the need to rip on Wiglaf. Nobody is perfect. And calling him names isn't going to make him a different person; nor is it going to solve the problem (which concerns another person here, not just him).

BK I think ya need to reread that post it wasnt her attitude that was in question. It was that of wiglafs that is the one that is cavaliar. But simply saying should i dump her rather then admiit outloud tht he is in no way ready to deal with the consquences of what she has just admitted.

With regard to clarifying: I have been seeing this girl for only 2.5 weeks - this is a new relationship and that is why I think it is bizarre she reveals this so soon....

And to my assertion that rapes don't occur in the suburbs, of course they don't occur in the woods, I think they predominately occur in parking lots or other low-income locations that are dark. This is my assumption and no one has disproven it.

My question may have been a little rough - "Should I dump her cause she was raped". I didnt' see the need to spill all my feelings on the matter because this is just a forum. I wanted some gut reactions about girls who say these things so soon
