i think some women would invoke a rape story to get sympathy but really how many guys actually would actually tolerate it? there is a greater risk of rejection than there is of acceptance and the payoff for acceptance isnt that great. I tend to believe that because of this risk reward scenerio, women are not prone to say they were raped.

also Im not faulting wiglaf for him being stressed out by this (as I would be) but i am faulting for him trying to find shady motives for her to do it. thats insulting to her and our caring nature.

personally I dont want to date someone who was sexually abused or raped because of the psychological implications usually associated with the untreated trauma. I have done it in the past, and really dont like what i've got out of it or did to the people.

also based on everything wiglaf has ever said here, he has no credibility what-so-ever. if you take his word for anything, then youre already in the dark and wont ever really know the full story. This is the guy who called his girlfriend "porky" in a disdainful way. Im more inclined to believe anyone BESIDES wiglaf (and ned) on ANYTHING simply because he is so atrocious in his beliefs and articulation of them. he has never made an impression where I would actually think what he had to say was the right perception of the situation.

and for the record, ive never met a woman that lied about rape to me to gain sympathy.

Your problem here is that this sort of prosaic cost-benefit analysis is the core of dry rational thought that isn't exactly the forte of many (most?) young women.

Stop logically overanalyzing it the way you or I would and think about it in terms of instant emotional gratification at all costs; then the pieces will fall into place.

I thought that 80-90% of the people on here are actually the same person who gets amusement from the fact that a few other people get sucked into this maze.

It depends on how long he's been seeing this girl and how intimate they are, but if she took things a little too fast in revealing this to him, and in turn perhaps this may have sparked some sort of expectation of reciprocity as far as intimacy is concerned, it's perfectly reasonable to question whether or not to dump her. If they weren't very intimate on an emotional level to the point where such a revelation would be appropriate, expecting Wiglaf to engage in such intimacy before he was ready would be analogous to a woman being pressured to have sex before she was ready.

If a woman was considering dumping a guy because he was pressuring her to have sex, we wouldn't call her a "dick" for considering the dump option. But yet, I find it a bit hypocritical that when Wiglaf is being pressured for emotional intimacy, there is this backlash against him because he has considered such an option.

Some people do have emotional baggage. Other people cannot handle being in a relationship with people who have such baggage. There is nothing wrong with this incompatibility. If Wiglaf's relationship can't function because of such a problem, then he absolutely should consider dumping her. Why be pressured to stay in a relationship that is doomed to failure just because you feel guilty about her horrific emotional experience?

If she needs to resolve this issue through emotional intimacy with a partner, it's best to be with someone who can provide her that support... not someone who can't.

But then again, this is just all about Wiglaf being an *******, right?
