The Dems really need less spin and more straight forward attacks. It's not like Bush hasn't given them enough material.

      They're just too spineless.

If the question is whether he was calling Bush or the military in which he served stupid, I think it's pretty clear what he meant. Kerry may be a ****ty politician, but he's not anywhere near as bad as to denigrate the military a week before the midterms. And his spokesman immediately clarified his statement to that effect.

Then again, Dear Leader never mangles up what he says, so Kerry should be held to that standard.

I find it amusing that Bush is yelling at anyone for mangling a sentence. You'd think he sympathizes.

Wasn't a mangle. He said something he thought was witty. He's a dumbass.

No, it was a mangle. It was stumbling, bumbling sentence the kind Bush makes all the time. And btw, you're a dumbass too .

It was obviously a mangled sentence.

Here's what he was supposed to say:
"I can't overstress the importance of a great education. Do you know where you end up if you don't study, if you aren't smart, if you're intellectually lazy? You end up getting us stuck in a war in Iraq."

                    And here's what he said:

"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq."

He left out one word ("us"), and while it does change the meaning of the sentence completely it is obvious that he was not meaning anything against the troops.

At this point, it hardly matters what he meant. The GOP's not gonna let this one go. I'm sort of glad I've long since lost my faith in the Democrats at this point, since it allows me to laugh at their bad luck without feeling shame or fear.

The best thing for the Democracts would be if Old Ted Kennedy took Mr. Kerry for a little car ride.
