  • Naah. I really have no vested interest in this election other than.

    a) I hate Kerry

    b) It would be amusing to see the apoplexy here were things not as good for the Dems as the cheerleaders thought they were going to be.

My plan is at present to vote straight Libertarian ticket.

    • What a disaster this guy is.

He can continue hurting his party as much as he wants for all I care, but just imagine if he'd managed to become President.

Chaaa Ya Know. I probably miss it. I plan on watching something with better ratings like E entertainment's expose on the Brady Bunch.

But that's not it at all. He's saying that if you aren't the sharpest tool in the box, you don't have many options other than to become a grunt in the army. This is in fact totally different as it doesn't contradict the idea that some people still sign up for patriotic reasons.

Better than Bush. Bush is an absolute disaster at public speech, and makes Kerry look eloquent. And that's not even considering policy decisions.

Bumper sticker I saw on my walk from the parking garage this morning:

            Worst. President. Ever.

We might be able to find a 19th century Pres who was worse than Dubya, but I'm not sure.

The "demoralized base" isn't going to suddenly vote Repub when they'd otherwise decided to sit this one out. They're going to get out and vote anyway.

The swing voters won't suddenly jump ship over this, least of all those concerned about the economy, or bodybags and no direction in Iraq.

The "demoralized base" is still demoralized, because they realize their boys have ****ed up, and are going to get their behinds paddled come next Tuesday. Jumping up and down about the fudgepacker court case or Kerry's mouth shouldn't give them any real cause to cheer, because they both advertise how directionless and desperate the Repub party is.

I'm talking about the propagandists like Fox, who make their money from being cheerleaders. Now they have a new routine, but seriously, how much real traction do you expect from a non-candidate purportedly "insulting" troops, compared to corrupt incumbents whose mismanagement is killing troops?

Personally, I hope the Repubs hang on to a slim margin in both house of Congress (though they can lose all the state offices they want), because I want to see the real tarring and feathering in '08, and don't want the Repub pitbull machine to have a couple of years to whine that everything would have been fine, but for the fact that Dems had one or both houses of Congress for the last two years of Bush's second term. Two more years of Republican control, and we can kiss the party goodbye for a good long time.

Huh? Better or worse than the king of bungled policy, Bushy Boy Jr.?

And you'll continue letting the Republicans steal Constitutional rights, run up spending, and rack up all the scandals they can handle. At least it's a vote against the Republicans, but you have to know the Republicans have a pretty ****ing stupid base of loyalists who are supposedly energized now, and who you can vote against.

Yeah... imagine how bad things would be if the President were an idiot... oh wait

And if the leader is the guy confidently marching off a cliff, give me the dithering follower. He's the lesser of two evils.

I don't know about that. I know some pretty stupid Republicans who would need something like this to push them over to actually voting. The way Foxnews is playing it, you'd think this was the world's biggest catastrophe. Again, they still haven't covered the record-breaking month of deaths in Iraq that just ended. That must of been a CNN exclusive!

You apparently have me confused with someone who thinks anything the Dems stand for is worth voting for. No, the biggest protest I can muster against my disdain for Repugs is a straight ticket vote for Libertarians.

Dems would need to change in ways I just can't fathom them doing, for me to have a serious look at them.

                          • Fair play in my book. A lot of the stations have been hyping the deaths since the third week. It's like they were rooting for more to die to break the record so they could crow some more. Sick if you ask me.

At least Kerry has entertainment value.
And for those that stand by that he was talking about the president, (which in his hindsight he was )
It doesn't matter. A joke that can have multiple possible meanins should not be used at a political rally.

And since he was talking to college students, I don't believe for a minute what he's saying now. But that doesn't matter. All the clips I saw later were clarifications, when he should have just been apologizing. What a buffoon. (not that GW isn't a buffoon) but why would you distract from that.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

                            • Christ, Kerry makes a gaffe during a speech and the conservative morons use it to "prove" that the Dems hate the troops and want the "terrists" to win. This crap is getting old.
